It had already been evident that that was the case from the night he told her to step out from that penthouse… The fact that he was now leaving the country with Jenna only served to solidify that fact.
While she was honestly uncomfortable with all this, Xavia simultaneously knew that all this was for the best. There really wasn’t a reason for her to be feeling upset…
With that in mind, she quickly gathered her thoughts before calmly saying, “…Things can’t be over if nothing was even started in the first place. Either way, if there’s nothing else, just drop me by the roadside.”
There wasn’t a hint of emotion in her voice at all, and that made Jenna tighten her grasp on the steering wheel.
She, for one, had been observing Zivon and Xavia in the past two days, and she knew all that had happened between them. With that in mind, she wasn’t about to miss the chance to fully break the two up. While she had expected Xavia to be devastated and in pain, that girl remained as stubborn and resilient as ever… It honestly made Jenna feel a bit bad for Zivon.
“…You don’t even seem to have feelings for him, huh. I can now safely say that all that he’s done for you wasn’t worth it.”
…Worth, huh… Xavia had always thought that love was voluntary, and that worth never really played a role in it. Thinking back, however, when it came to Zivon, she really was unworthy…
Her background, education, competency… Literally everything about her was unworthy of him…
Clenching her fists, Xavia eventually replied in a monotonous tone, “…Sure enough, you’re the only worthy one. Make sure to take good care of him.”
“You…!” grumbled Jenna who was pissed with Xavia’s aloofness. Since she couldn’t find the right words to retort, however, Jenna ultimately decided to stay silent. Things between Xavia and Zivon had completely ended anyway, so there was no point arguing with her.
As she drove on, Jenna’s eyes fell on the phone on her car’s dashboard… Had Xavia been paying attention, she would’ve realized that the recording app on Jenna’s phone was on…!
Regardless, it was about ten minutes later when the car stopped in front of the kindergarten… and shortly after Xavia got out, two distinct shouts could be heard calling out, “Mommy!”
“Aunt!”
It didn’t take long for Maison and Yulia to latch onto both of Xavia’s thighs, jumping joyously the entire time.
After calming down a bit, Yulia was prompted to say, “I’ve missed you, Mommy…! Don’t ever leave me alone again, alright…?”
Though she had asked, she didn’t actually want Maison to come along since his presence would only ruin her time with Zivon. Maison himself didn’t really want to go. However, he was curious why Zivon actually chose to leave Xavia behind and go to Milan with this woman instead. Did they perhaps have a quarrel…?
Taking a peek in Xavia’s direction, Maison was easily able to tell that she felt slightly upset. With that in mind, Maison thought about it for a while… before eventually replying, “…I’d love to come along! After all, I’ll be able to eat good food and spend quality time with Daddy!”
Jenna had to fight the urge not to frown in displeasure as she replied, “…Fine. Get in, then.”
“Let me say goodbye to Aunt first!” replied Maison as he ran over to Xavia and gave her a tight hug.
Naturally, Xavia was upset to hear that Maison was now leaving as well. As if Zivon leaving wasn’t already bad enough…
Still, if this trip of theirs was going to last for over a month, then Xavia may already have left the Burton mansion by the time they returned… At that point, they’d most probably never meet again…
Xavia’s sad train of thought was cut short when she heard Maison whisper, “…Psst, Aunt…! I’ll do all that I can to stop them from getting too close to each other! I’ll report everything I do back to you as well…! Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you and Daddy get back together…!”
