Caught off guard, Nadine's nose slammed hard against Brad's chest. The pain was so sharp that she gasped and shed tears. Fortunately, the pain subsided after about half a minute.
Realizing she was trapped in Brad's arms, she immediately rebelled, writhing and twisting in an attempt to free herself. But she had overestimated her strength.
No matter how much effort she put into struggling, she couldn't break free from his hold. In the end, she had no choice but to lift her head and glare at Brad.
If it weren't for her concern about setting a bad example for Sean, she would have cursed at him on the spot. What was he up to now?
"Let go of me!" she spat through gritted teeth, her eyes ablaze with fury.
However, he had no intention of letting her go. He continued to hold her tightly, not giving her a chance to break free. "Nadine, if you agree to do one thing for me, I'll let you go."
He had moved past the regret that weighed on him earlier. He knew he had wronged Nadine and his family in the past.
Back then, he had been blinded by Jean. He'd always believed that Nadine was a manipulative woman who knew exactly how to use her charm to win over his father and grandfather. He was convinced she had used them to pressure him into marrying her.
But once he learned that Jean had been lying to him all along, he changed his perception of Nadine. Nadine wasn't at all manipulative. She was kind-hearted, independent, and intelligent. Jean, on the other hand, was a drama queen, greedy and deceitful.
