Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 628

During the evening, Verian was making dinner with Aunt Heidy in the kitchen. Little Jelly Bean then rushed over with Verian’s phone.

“Monty, aunty Serene wants to have a video call with us!”

Little Jelly Bean had already picked up the video call and noticed Serene instantly through her phone’s display.

“It’s been a while, Serene. Why aren’t you inviting me out there to hang out recently?”

On the other end of the call, Serene was sitting crossed-legged on the couch. There was a huge window next to her while rays of light from the setting sun shone through. Verian noticed she did not seem to be in her home, so she raised her brows slightly and asked curiously, “Where are you though?”

Serene replied with a giggle, “I’m at home but in Wilson’s Z Country’s home.”

“Z Country? Wilson and you have traveled as far as Z City? Good lord, why didn’t you tell me? Oh, I recalled something. Heaton was in Z City for a business trip back then and told me he was staying in Wilson’s house.”

“Huh? But I didn’t see President Fudd at all though?”

Verian was stunned as she said, “Really?”

Had Heaton actually lied to her?

“However, a lot of things happened to me recently. I don’t exactly know how to explain it all to you at the moment.”

Verian noticed Serene had lost quite some weight throughout the video call. Even the baby fat around her cheeks had disappeared and her chin was sharper. As such, Verian asked in a concerned tone, “I can tell that you’ve been troubled with a lot of things recently.Just look at how much weight you’ve lost and your face isn’t glowing like it used to. Is Z Country far too foreign for you?”

“Well, no. I think Z Country is quite similar to North City. I wasn’t feeling too well health-wise and too much has happened recently. I was even in a coma for a while.”

Verian was concerned. “Huh? Are you alright now?”

Serene giggled while squinting her eyes. She replied, “I’m fine. Look at how active I am now and besides, Wilson’s been feeding me like a pig recently. I’ll be fattened up pretty soon.”

“When are you returning to North City then? I haven’t seen you for a really long time now.”

“We’ll return to North City after Wilson’s done with work here.”

Verian had to return to cooking so she said, “I have to go now, Serene. I’ll call you back when I’m free later tonight. I’m making dinner right now so I’m a little busy at the moment.”

“Alright then.”

Z Country.

Wilson walked over to her with a plate of fruits after she hung up. He sat next to her and asked, “Who were you on the phone with?”

“I was just having a video call with Verian earlier.”

Wilson stared at her intensely and said, “I was a little busy recently and didn’t have time to keep you company. You must feel bored alone here and I really wish to send you back to North City as well. However, I’m also quite worried about your body.”

Serene shook her little head and opened her arms to hug Wilson before nuzzling up in him like a little kitten. “I’ll feel worse if I return to North City without you.”

Wilson reached out to hug her closer to him as he said, “I’m just worried that you might be bored. I’m taking a day off tomorrow and will take you out to sightsee tomorrow since you didn’t exactly get to do so after being in Z Country for such a long time.”

“Alright. However, I wouldn’t be getting in the way of your work, right?”

“No. Accompanying you is more important than anything else.”

Serene was slightly blushing as she hugged Wilson’s neck. “I want to eat some durians.”

There were durians in the plate of fruits. Wilson was not a fan of durians. However, due to Serene’s previous micarriage and since durians were known to be good for a woman’s health, Wilson had bought some for her.

Wilson sliced a piece of durian with a fork to feed Serene. Serene took a bite before gesturing at Wilson to come closer.

Wilson did not think much of it. Serene kissed him the instant he inched closer to her.

He could taste the durian.

Wilson held back his smile as he forced a slight frown. He said, “A durian kiss is indeed unforgettable.”

Verian took a glance at Heaton instinctively and hinted while she ate, “Oh, Jelly Bean, you must never tell a lie next time. Did you know that lies will end up hurting others?”

Little Jelly Bean listened with an oblivious look on her face as she blinked her huge eyes. She seemed confused but nodded obediently regardless. “Yeah! I’ll never lie again next time!”

Heaton took a teasing glance at the woman. Why did that statement sound different in his ears?

Verian did not seem to be in a good mood after dinner and immediately went straight to her room upstairs. Heaton followed her.

“Who has agitated you, Madam Fudd?”

Verian laid in bed and when she noticed him enter the room, she immediately turned around so that her back faced him. Heaton was not angry at this since his temper had calmed down significantly after marrying Verian.

Heaton sat by the bed, reaching out to caress her waist as he said, “I thought you wanted to lose weight? Why are you lying down after a meal? Get up and take a stroll with me outside.”

“No.”

Heaton was slightly stunned when he heard her hostile tone. He patted her little belly with his huge hand and stared at her little face. Concerned, he asked, “Are you on your period?”

A sudden wave of frustration washed over Verian as she flung his hand away immediately and said, “No. I’m just annoyed.”

“Who annoyed you?”

“You.”

Heaton raised his brows and spoke with a laugh, “How exactly have I annoyed you?”

Verian bit her lips and glared at him as she said, “You lied to me.”

Heaton was confused as he asked, “When did I lie to you?”

Verian sat up from the bed and glared at him. “I had a video call with Serene at noon. Serene is currently in Z Country and you know what, she’s also staying in Wilson’s house. You told me that you’d be staying in Wilson’s house on your business trip to Z Country. However you were never at his house in the first place. Therefore, the woman’s voice I heard through the phone is your mistress, right? Heaton Fudd, do you think I’m that easy to lie to?”
