Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 619

The next morning, Serene—dressed in a set of teddy bear pajamas—came downstairs. She saw a beautiful woman in a set of blue silk robes.

"Ruby?"

Ruby heard her voice as she ate the breakfast that Wilson made. She eyed Serene coldly. "Serene, how old are you? Why are you still wearing a kid's pajamas?

Serene looked at herself, and then at what Ruby wore—she felt ashamed.

Serene rubbed her neck awkwardly. Wilson came out of the kitchen with breakfast and hugged her.

"Sit; have some breakfast."

Serene sat down and looked at the food Wilson made her—chicken soup.

"Wow, drinking chicken soup so early in the morning? Are you feeding a pig?" Ruby said tauntingly.

Serene was slightly embarrassed. She looked at Wilson shyly and said, "Let's leave it for lunch. Having chicken soup for breakfast feels weird to me as well."

Wilson ignored her and said, "You're still weak. Chicken soup in the morning will revitalize you. Drink up."

Serene thought that the chicken soup smelled delicious, so she did not refuse it.

Ruby seemed a little tempted to taste it as well. Wilson asked, "Do you want some?"

She pretended to be in disdain. "No, I'm on a diet!"

Serene seemed surprised; she looked at her and said, "Ruby, you're already so thin; why are you on a diet?"

Ruby sneered deliberately. "I'm not you. I can't wear teddy-bear pajamas and still have someone who would want me. If I don't keep fit, I'm done for this life.

Why would she throw a jab at Serene?

What was wrong with teddy-bear pajamas? Those pajamas were loose and comfortable; she did not care what kind of prints were on it.

Then, Wilson made Serene some white fungus and red date porridge; it was good for her health.

After breakfast, Ruby stood on the balcony and threw rocks into the pool below them.

Wilson did the dishes, so Serene went to accompany Ruby.

Ruby looked at her coldly and said, "Why are you here? Seeing you here, I feel like throwing you in the pool."

Ruby smiled. She looked at Serene and softened. "Serene, when you were a puppet assassin, you were much more powerful than me."

Serene was in disbelief; she laughed. "How was that possible? Me? More powerful than a professional assassin? Impossible!"

"You shot Wilson on his left chest and right shoulder. If you don't believe me, you could see it for yourself. The scars should still be there."

Serene's face turned white. She hesitantly asked, "Are you serious?"

"Serene, Wilson's love for you will never falter. If you disappoint him, I will come back and snatch him away from you," Ruby said before she left the balcony.

Ruby changed her clothes, and then she muttered to Wilson coldly, "I'm leaving."

When Ruby left, Serene entered the living room in a daze. Wilson took a blanket and put it on her. "It's still cold outside in the morning."

Serene looked at him and said, "Wilson, let me see your wounds?"

Wilson was shocked. "What wounds?"

Serene looked at him and said, "I shot you twice, right?"
