Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 544

Heaton immediately noticed the injured woman had already woken up the instant he entered. She was playing with her phone while lying in bed appearing completely fine.

A spark of rage boiled in Heaton’s heart. He was worried sick throughout the journey and it turned out, Verian was completely fine and not to mention, she did not seem to be bothered at all.

The man walked over to her and immediately snatched away her phone before exclaiming, “Don’t you think you should explain to me about why’d you drive out on your own without my permission? Look at yourself. You were in an accident, eh?”

Verian stared directly at him with an oddly puzzled look on her face as she said, “Who the hell are you? Why’d you snatch away my phone?”

Heaton was speechless.

He suddenly raised his brows as he said, “What did you say?”

Verian was extremely calm as she snatched her phone back while exclaiming, “You are such a weird man. I have no idea who you are so why did you barge into my room and snatch my phone away? If you don’t leave, I will have the hospital staff kick you out.”

Heaton was speechless.

Not only did Heaton not leave, but he sat by Verian’s side and reached out to touch her forehead.

Verian flung his hand away while feeling slightly annoyed as she said, “What are you doing? Don’t think for a second that just because you’re handsome, you’d assume I won’t press charges for your apparent harassment! If you dare touch me again, I’ll…”

Before she could finish, both of her hands were grabbed tightly by Heaton before pressing them on both his cheeks. Heaton then stared down at her while he seemed like he was assessing her with his dark eyes.

“You really have a few loose screws now, don’t you?”

Verian was speechless.

She was struggling to no avail so she stared at him with her watery eyes while furiously saying, “Who are you to call me loose screws? You have a few loose screws in your head yourself! Let go of me!”

When the nurse entered the room with Verian’s IV medication, she was greeted by that intimate scene.

“Um… the patient’s medicine s ready… you guys…”

Heaton only released Verian slowly after that. He got up calmly and he did not seem even the slightest bit bashful or flustered.

When the nurse was infusing Verian’s fluid, Verian said, “Nurse, he barged into my room without my permission. Aren’t you guys going to do something about it? Help me kick him out.”

The nurse seemed puzzled and assumed they were just having a little squabble as she replied with a smile, “Madam Fudd, did you have a fight with Mr. Fudd?”

“What do you mean by Madam and Mr. Fudd? I don’t know him.”

The nurse instinctively glanced toward Heaton as she said, “Mr. Fudd, this…”

Heaton stared directly at Verian with his dark eyes before calmly replying, “You don’t need to care about my wife. Perhaps, there’s something wrong with her brain due to the crash.”

Verian furiously said, “Hey! Whose brain did you claim has a problem? You’re the problem! Nurse, are you guys really not bothered by horrible people like that in your hospital?”

The nurse felt helpless as she replied with a smile, “But Madam Fudd, he’s really your husband. You only had a minor concussion though, how could you… not remember your own husband?”

“How is that possible? How would I not know if I’m married or not?”

“This is Mr. Heaton Fudd and he’s really your husband. He’s the president of Fudd Group and one of the main shareholders of this hospital too.”

Verian replied, “... So what if he’s the main shareholder? Is the main shareholder allowed to barge into other people’s rooms?”

The nurse was speechless.

What game was Madam Fudd playing exactly?

Based on medical knowledge, it was true that a concussion could result in partial memory loss for the victim. However, it would not be to the extent of actually forgetting their own husbands unless their brain suffered a severe hemorrhage or undergone an open brain surgery. It was only then that the patient would forget about their loved ones and relatives. However, in those situations, their loved ones and relatives would not be the only memory they would lose but they would literally forget everything. Their mental capacity would deteriorate akin to a three-year-old.

However, Madam Fudd’s earlier reaction was quite drastic and even seemed active when she moved. How could she have forgotten about her own husband?

After the nurse was done with Verian’s infusion and injection, she left the room. Heaton sat on the chair next to her and stared intensely at Verian which made her feel like she had goosebumps all over her body.

“Since you don’t remember me then do you remember who Serene Ludd is?”

“Of course I do, Serene is a good friend of mine and I just met Serene earlier. There is no need for you to remind me.”

“... This isn’t possible though. Madam Fudd only suffered a minor concussion and besides, the hemorrhage in her brain is also very minor. It wouldn’t have affected her memories this severely though. It would be more likely for her to forget about what happened during the crash. That is because humans will be in a semi-conscious state during such a huge impact and it will be normal for a person to forget about what happened in the crash.”

After some serious thought, the doctor hesitantly asked, “President Fudd, could… Madam Fudd be pranking you?”

Heaton’s eyes glimmered as he said, “Exactly my thoughts, doctor.”

Before Heaton returned to the patient’s ward, he called Kush to bring Little Jelly Bean to the hospital.

The moment Little Jelly Bean arrived at the patient’s ward, she rushed over and said, “Monty, daddy said you had a car crash and hit your head. Does your head still hurt?”

Verian patted the little rascal’s little head and said, “I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt anymore.”

Little Jelly Bean reached out her milky white little hands to gently touch Verian’s forehead before gently blowing it with her little mouth as she said, “It’ll feel much better after I give it a blow.”

Verian smiled and said, “Oh, how thoughtful of you, Jelly Bean.”

Little Jelly Bean blinked her huge eyes and stared at Verian with a curious look as she said, “Monty, is it true that daddy said you don’t remember him anymore?”

Verian was speechless.

Verian remained silent for a good long while as her mouth twitched.

“Well, you can bring Little Jelly Bean home, Assistant Kush. My head hurts a little and I want to rest.”

Heaton stared at his wife with a teasing gaze from his dark eyes…

Impressive. She even remembered Assistant Kush but only somehow he was forgotten. Just what kind of amnesia was this. Was her amnesia that specific to the point of choosing a particular someone to forget?

After she was done saying that, Verian seemed to have noticed Heaton’s gaze as she bit her tongue.

It seemed she had exposed herself now...
