Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 488

Carter had gone to work, so other than the servants, the Gale Family Mansion was only left with an old man, an adult, and a little kid.

At noon, when they ate lunch, they stared at each other awkwardly.

There were many rules in the Gale family. Indeed, rich people and ordinary people had different styles whilst eating.

For instance, in the 24 years that Helen had lived, she always had the rice before she had the soup.

However, in the Gale family, the soup must come before the rice.

Also, in Helen's 24 years of life, she never used serving chopsticks.

However, at the dining table in the Gale family, everyone must use the serving chopsticks to take dishes.

Taking turns in using two chopsticks ruined Helen's initial good appetite. This was a troublesome thing to do for a lazy person.

Tyler felt a little bothered as well. After all, he did not have to obey such rules when he was eating before. Frowning, he said, "Grandpa, why do we have to change chopsticks to take the dishes in your house? I don't have to do this in my house. It's so troublesome."

Old Master Gale smiled and explained, "These are called serving chopsticks. Using serving chopsticks is more hygienic. If you use your own chopsticks to take the dishes, they're coated with your saliva that might carry a pathogen which can infect other people. This is more considerate for other people's health."

Tyler pouted his little mouth.

The servant who stood beside them smiled and said, "If you think that it's troublesome, you can tell me what you want to eat. I'll help you to take it using the serving chopsticks."

Helen was really not used to it. When they ate, the servants stood beside them to serve them and watch them eat.

This resembled the way an ancient king had a meal.

Helen told the servant in a friendly way, "It's okay. Thanks. I can help him take the food."

She had just arrived at the Gale Family Mansion. Now, even the table manners were totally different than what Helen was used to. Her future days… how could she live like this...

Looking worried, Helen did not eat much during lunch.

In the afternoon, Tyler ran to Helen's side and said quietly, "Mommy, I'm hungry. I feel like eating instant noodles."

Tyler did not eat much at noon too. Upon hearing the words instant noodles, Helen also felt hungry.

However, the Gale Family Mansion would not have such things called instant noodles.

Helen took a glance downstairs and saw that Old Master Gale was not in the living room. She said really softly, "Maybe we can walk around the neighborhood to see if there's any supermarkets or stores?"

"Sure! Let's go."

...

15 minutes later, Helen and Tyler held a bowl of instant noodles each and walked out of a convenience store. They sat on a bench under a tree and enjoyed the instant noodles that smelt really good.

"This smells so good! Mommy, instant noodles are really delicious!"

"Yeah. The noodles smell very nice! Rich people really care about health too much. Those dishes were not tasty."

...

A black Bentley drove toward them not too far away.

Luke, who was driving the car, frowned slightly. He looked toward the mother and son duo who sat under the tree and felt surprised. "Boss, aren't they your madam and little master?"

Carter, who was sitting in the back seat, raised his eyes and saw an adult and a kid sitting under a tree, eating big bowls of instant noodles. He was in a daze.

Were they driven out by the old man? Or was there nothing to eat at the Gale Family Mansion, making them hungry?

After getting out of the car, Carter moved his long legs to walk toward them.

Helen was eating the instant noodles halfway when she saw Carter. She quickly hid the instant noodles behind her. However, she did not hold it steadily, making the instant noodles soup splash and scald her hand. Feeling the pain, she exclaimed, "Ouch!"

Carter frowned and pulled her hand from behind. "You got scalded? Why are you behaving like a thief?"

Helen smiled awkwardly. She really did behave like a thief. "I'm alright!"

Tyler also put down the instant noodles and looked at Carter with a guilty conscience. "Daddy."

Carter had always disliked them eating junk food. However, he was not fussy. He did so for the sake of their health.

"You don't want to walk anymore?"

Helen looked around the environment which was a villa area. "There's nothing else to see. The more I walk around, the more I hate rich people."

Carter chuckled and hugged her waist from behind. Looking at the houses around, he said, "Mrs. Gale, look around you. The richest person here is you. You're not qualified to hate rich people."

"Why am I rich?"

"The Gale Group plus Carter Gale. Aren’t they enough?"

"Your mouth is too sweet. The Gale Group belongs to the Gale family and it’s not mine."

Carter looked at her with his serious eyes. "If I say it's yours, then it's yours."

"Alright. I'm just not taking it seriously. By the way, be sure not to tell dad that I ate instant noodles just now. I feel that you rich people definitely despise our behavior of eating instant noodles."

Carter felt that his little wife was too cute and said, "I don't despise you."

Helen looked at her half eaten instant noodles that she accidentally spilled. She pursed the corners of her lips and said, "I only ate half before it spilled. It's such a waste."

Carter suddenly held her little hand and strode toward the convenience store.

"We can just buy another one."

"Ah?"

Five minutes later, Carter and Helen sat on the bench under the tree. Both of them held a bowl of instant noodles each.

Feeling unsure, Helen looked at him. "Do you really want to eat with me?"

"Aren't instant noodles delicious?"

Uncontrollably, the corners of Helen's lips curved. She knew that Carter especially wanted to make her feel that they were in the same world, shortening the distance between them.

"Hubby, you actually don't have to do this. No matter if you like to eat instant noodles or healthy light food, I will still love you. I won't love you less if your favorite food is different than mine."
