Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 470

At the lunch table in the Fudd Family Mansion...

Little Jelly Bean took a few bites of the rice before going away to play. The bowl of rice almost became cold, so Heaton could not bear it and lectured her. Little Jelly Bean acted pitiful and took Verian's hand. Hiding behind Verian, Little Jelly Bean used her big, watery eyes to stare at Heaton.

Verian would certainly become the peacemaker. She pulled Little Jelly Bean to sit in the high chair. "Eat quickly. If you don't eat, you won't grow tall. If you don't grow tall, Tyler will call you dwarf. Jelly Bean, do you want Tyler to keep calling you dwarf?"

Once the little munchkin heard this, she immediately used her chopsticks to eat the rice from the bowl sparingly. "I don't want to be a dwarf."

"Eat slowly then."

Verian gave her daughter a piece of rib.

The man sitting opposite frowned slightly. "Where's mine?"

"..."

This man... How old was he now? He still wanted someone to serve him food?

Verian gave him a scornful gaze but still gave him a piece of rib. She teased him, "Come on, Heaton Fudd, the big kid, let me give you a big piece of rib."

"Daddy's so childish."

The family sat at the table to eat. The old man was out travelling with his golden age group, and Zaynie was taken away by Nancy. Therefore, other than the servants, there were only the three of them at home. It felt quite desolate.

Verian asked, "By the way, when is dad coming home?"

"I just called and asked. He seems to be having a good time. I don't expect him to be back until next week."

Smiling, Verian said, "It's good for the elderly to go out more and have fun. Normally, when Little Jelly Bean goes to school, no one would accompany him and he would be bored."

Heaton saw how concerned she was about the old man. He smiled faintly. "You really care about him that much?"

"Of course. He's our dad."

Our dad.

The way she addressed him made Heaton's heart extremely happy.

Verian's cell phone rang. It was a WeChat message sent by Helen. She opened it to have a look. "Helen asked me to accompany her to go shopping in the afternoon."

Little Jelly Bean pouted and said, "Then, Monty can't play games with me!"

Verian wanted to turn Helen down, but she sent another message, saying that she needed her to be her advisor for something.

Verian was embarrassed to turn her down. After all, she was quite close to Helen these days. Verian coaxed Little Jelly Bean by saying, "Will you wait until I come back in the evening to play games with you? It seems like Aunt Helen needs my help for something."

Little Jelly Bean frowned and exhorted her like an adult. "Then, Monty, you have to come home early!"

"Sure."

After lunch, Madam Leah brought Little Jelly Bean to take a nap. Verian wanted to take advantage of this period to leave, but Heaton stopped her.

"Why are you acting like a sneaky thief?"

"I just don't want to wake up Little Jelly Bean. Later on she will pester me to play games with her."

Heaton took a look at the strong afternoon sun. The temperature outside was not low. "I'll send you there."

"It's okay. I'll just take a bus."

Heaton walked over to her. Pursing his thin lips, he said in a serious manner, "If you faint because of a heat stroke on the way, who will be responsible for that?"

"..."

She could not debate with him.

After getting into the car, Heaton leaned over to help her fasten her seat belt.

Verian looked at his handsome side profile and said, "I'll shop with Helen for a while and I'll be back soon."

The man faintly muttered to reply to her. Then, he said, "Don't take too long. You're pregnant, so you should rest more. Also, don't drink unhealthy drinks like milk tea outside."

Verian listened to his exhortation, and she could not help but burst into laughter. "Why are you becoming like an old lady?"

After looking at the rings for a long time, it seemed that the rings were either too expensive, or the design was not nice.

Helen finally bought an affordable pair of rings. After paying, Helen looked at the newly bought pair of rings and smiled. Touching her neck, she said, "Verian, am I too stingy? The female colleagues all say that women who're too stingy will be abandoned by their husbands."

"That's invalid. Carter's very kind to you and likes you very much. You’re saving money to support the family. If he understands, he'll only care for you more."

Helen nodded and felt what Verian said was making sense. "Thank you for being my advisor today. Let me treat you to dinner?"

Before, Helen said that Carter was just an ordinary programmer. Although his salary was not low, it should not be that high. Financially, their family was not as well-off as Heaton. "You've spent a lot of money to buy the rings today. How can I let you treat me? We'll shop for a little while and go home to eat. Little Jelly Bean is waiting for me to play games with her. You also want to cook for Tyler, don't you?"

"Yeah. Let's go over there and look at the clothes."

"Alright."

Verian accompanied Helen to shop for about an hour. She looked at the time and it was nearly four o'clock. It was late, so she gave Heaton a phone call.

Who knew that this man said, "Okay, just come out. I'll be at the entrance of the mall."

Verian was stunned. How did this man reach here so quickly? Did he take a rocket?

After separating with Helen, Verian saw a familiar car when she arrived at the entrance of the shopping mall. She walked over and opened the car door. When she got into the car, she asked curiously, "Why did you get there so soon?"

Heaton did not leave at all. He took a short nap in the car. Calmly, he said, "I was taking a nap in the car before you called."

Was he sitting in the car waiting for her all this while?

Verian's heart felt warm. The corners of her lips curved slightly.

Casually, Heaton asked, "You didn't buy anything?"

"Today, I was mainly Helen's advisor. I wasn't interested in anything. Helen bought a pair of wedding rings. Then, she liked a dress, but that dress was too expensive, so she didn't buy it."

Listening to Verian's words, Heaton raised his eyebrows.

It was big news that Carter's woman could not afford to buy a dress.
