Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 431

Serene was terrible at lying. She had no intention of concealing the truth from him. Because of this, she said truthfully, “Yes.”

“How many relationships have you been in?”

Joshua had always been very pushy. He was even quite reckless in nature. However, Serene had always been a good-tempered person. Moreover, it was a blind date and she had already come this far so it was normal for the other party to ask her such questions.

“Two.”

Joshua frowned upon hearing her answer. A tinge of displeasure flashed across his eyes.

“Two relationships… You definitely have plenty of experience in dating.”

There was a hint of mockery in his voice.

Serene felt somewhat unhappy. “Mr. Cantrell, isn’t it normal for me to have dated at least two guys at my age?”

“Ms. Ludd.”

Joshua suddenly addressed her in a formal manner, causing her to become slightly stunned. “Excuse me but are you still a virgin?”

Serene was speechless.

Sitting there, her face turned red and white at the same time. In that moment, she was ashamed and angry.

Her hands that were resting on the table instantly clenched into a tight ball. She even had the urge to grab the lemon fruit tea on the table and splash his face.

Serene was not a person who let things roll off her back. She bit her lips and asked, “What about you then? Are you a virgin?”

Joshua did not expect a retort from Serene.

In his subconscious, girls were not allowed to ask such questions. How could she not be ashamed of herself?

“It doesn’t matter if I’m a virgin or not. However, it’s different for girls. You’re degrading yourself!”

Serene was at a loss for words.

She thought there was no need for her to keep talking to him. They did not share the same values.

She got up and was about to leave.

Joshua stopped her. “Ms. Ludd, we can sort this out even if you’re not a virgin. You have to pay half the cost of our marital home in the future. After all, a used girl like you doesn’t deserve as many betrothal gifts.”

“Mr. Cantrell, a used girl like me prefers not to ruin the life of an excellent young man like yourself!”

Serene grabbed her bag, turned around, and was about to stomp away.

Joshua leapt up from his chair. “How can you talk like that? There are so many girls out there who want to go on a blind date with me. If it wasn’t for my aunt, it would have been impossible for you to meet me.”

Serene laughed coldly. "Since you think I'm not good enough for you, don't waste your time on me."

"You!"

"By the way, Mr. Cantrell, do you know that your breath stinks a lot? I suggest you visit a stomatologist whenever you have free time to check whether you have any oral diseases."

"What nonsense are you talking about? Stay right there!"

Joshua was about to grab her shoulder when Wilson, who was sitting behind their table, lifted his hands to grip his wrist.

Serene's eyes trembled. She never thought that Wilson would be sitting near their table.

So he had heard how Joshua had humiliated her earlier?

Serene's chest felt heavy. She turned around and quickly walked out of the Golden Shore Restaurant.

Joshua glared at Wilson. "You! What do you want?"

Wilson shook his wrist off violently. As though he was looking at a pile of trash, he looked at him with an arrogant gaze and said coldly, "Trash like you doesn't deserve a wonderful girl like Serene."

"You… She's just a used girl. Who are you calling trash?"

Bang!

Wilson took a swing at him, striking a heavy blow against his jaw.

Joshua covered his busted face with his hands and started to panic. "You! How could you hit me? I'll call the police if you take another step closer."

Wilson grabbed his clothes and warned him, enunciating each word, “Stay away from Serene and make sure I never see you again!”

Wilson strode out of the Golden Shore Restaurant and saw Serene getting on a bus.

Wilson carried Serene calmly as she glared at him angrily. “Put me down! I don’t need you to carry me!”

“Keep still if you don’t want to wear your feet out.”

She did not need his fake kindness!

Secretly, he was probably gloating over her for her failed blind date!

That man’s hands were firmly locked on her waist and leg. Serene felt secure being in his embrace, yet it was so heart-wrenching that she wanted to tear up.

She rarely cried in the past but after breaking up with Wilson, she cried a lot.

She hated feeling weak. She knew that he had a wife, yet she could not help but miss him.

The woman in his embrace suddenly went quiet. Wilson thought it was weird, so he lowered his eyes to look at her.

Suddenly, Serene asked him a hollow voice, “Am I a terrible person? Obsessing over another person’s husband?”

She was probably a very mean girl.

Wilson’s heart throbbed. Unconsciously, his voice became gentle. “No, it’s all my fault.”

Serene’s eyes turned red and she sniffed.

Wilson could not bring himself to send her back home. He brought her to a hotel instead.

Serene did not know how things had become like this for the two of them. She did not know what kind of relationship they were now in.

She had a lot of questions in her head yet did not want to bring them up. For example, why was he at Clear River Town?

In fact, there was nothing much to ask. It was obvious. He was there to look for her. Why else was he there?

Serene sat on the bed. Looking at her dirty feet, she said, “I took Mrs. Jarret’s bank card and promised her to never see you again.”

Holding onto a hot towel, Wilson was slightly stunned, yet he was not angry. He simply grabbed her feet and cleaned them with the towel.

“Wilson Jarret, I said we should stop meeting each other in the future,” she expressed herself clearly.

However, Wilson lifted his head and fixed his dark eyes on her. Then he said, “How much did Ruby pay you? I’ll pay you three times that amount so just stay with me.”
