Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 388

Verian felt that Heaton had drawn way too much attention to himself. She tugged on his arm and softly said, "Let's go."

However, Heaton did not seem to be in a hurry to leave. He said, "Why are you in such a rush? Where's your first love?"

Verian felt the goosebumps all over her back. She felt terrified, even though the man had a smile on his face.

Gerome went to them and said, "Hello, I am Gerome Tanner, Verian's classmate back in high school. I'm actually quite curious about you. I am envious that you could marry such an amazing woman like Verian."

The corners of Verian's mouth twitched. It seemed Gerome went a little too overboard in praising her.

Heaton grinned and said, "Really? What exactly did Madam Fudd say to you to make you feel so intrigued about me?"

Gerome was stunned. He did not expect Heaton to be that blunt. He chuckled and said, "Nothing. I noticed how happy and delighted Verian felt when she talked about you. I always thought that Verian would be a career woman, soI didn't expect that your daughter is already three years old, and she's on her way to giving birth to her second child. So I'm a little curious about her husband."

Heaton raised his huge hand to pat her head. He cracked a calm smile as he said, "You told your classmates about our second child?"

"They wanted to make me drink, and I can't have any alcohol at the moment. I was worried that they would think that I'm arrogant, so I had to come clean to them," Verian said with a nervous laugh.

Heaton sure knew how to stir trouble!

Chelsey was jealous that Verian married someone so capable, so she intentionally said, "Oh, Gerome, it's been so many years. You wouldn't still have feelings for Verian now, would you?"

Verian grew nervous as she peeked at Heaton's expression. However, the man had always been calm, and there was even a subtle smile on his face. She was not sure how he felt at that moment.

Heaton lowered his head and teased, "It seems like Madam Fudd still has her appeal, even when she's pregnant with her second child. It looks like someone still has feelings for her."

"Hey, it's getting late. Let's go home. Little Jelly Bean is waiting for us at home."

Heaton replied in a loving tone, "Alright."

The organizer of the reunion said, "I'll go pay the bill. If you guys are still not done with fun and don't feel like going home, we can hang out somewhere else. So, what do you guys think? President Fudd, Madam Fudd, would you like to join us?"

Heaton said, "You guys are my wife's classmates, and since this hotel happens to be one of Fudd Group's properties, this meal is on me."

Verian stared at him, wide-eyed.

The Banyan Tree Villa belonged to Fudd Group? Why did he not tell her?

"We can't thank you enough, President Fudd!"

Everyone there started to discuss Verian's luck in marrying Heaton.

Chelsey clenched her fists when she heard them.

Verian Mont had managed to seduce the most reputable man in North City, Heaton Fudd! It seemed she was doing quite well for herself!

Heaton hugged Verian and said, "Let's head home, honey."

However, Verian did not feel touched when she heard him call her 'honey'. Instead, she had goosebumps all over her. Heaton had never addressed her like that. He must have schemed against her and perhaps even prepared to punish her when they were home!

They were in the car when Heaton suddenly leaned toward her.

A dark shadow flashed across her eyes, and before she could react, he kissed her lips.

His breath felt heavy and invasive. It felt heavier than usual.

Verian realized that Uncle Lewis was also in the car, so she frantically pushed him away and said, "No, Uncle Lewis is still here!"

She was not as shameless as Heaton!

The man spoke in a soft tone as he stared at her with his burning gaze, "I've been thinking about you the entire night."

Verian was speechless.

His flirtatious remark stunned her.

He caressed her long hair with his hand as he pressed his forehead against hers and nuzzled the tip of her nose.

Verian could not control her lust as she kissed his thin lips.

"I missed you too."

It was relatively uncommon for Verian and Heaton to be that direct.

Verian hugged his neck and said, "Tonight's reunion was way too boring. I don't ever want to attend another high school reunion again."

While she rested in Heaton's arms, Verian looked out the window. She noticed Gerome stood at the Banyan Tree Villa's main entrance as he waited for a ride home.

Gerome had drunk some wine that night.

Gerome greeted Verian and Heaton as he entered the car. However, he realized that Heaton could not see him.

The Maybach drove off steadily.

Gerome glanced at them through the rear-view mirror.

Heaton's arm was around Verian's waist as she laid in his bosom.

The woman had plenty of subtle movements. One moment, she would flick the buttons on Heaton's shirt and then touched his collar the next. The man had a slight frown, but he did seem to be annoyed. He even held her hands. They appeared quite natural with each other.

Gerome's heart felt as if something had struck it hard. As he was just about to look away, he saw Heaton lowered his head to kiss Verian's temple. It was a subtle kiss, and the woman in his arms did not even react. It seemed like she was already used to it.

Gerome looked away.

After a brief moment, Uncle Lewis coughed awkwardly and asked, "That's right, Gerome, where do you live?"

"Oh, South Gardens."

Then, Heaton interrupted from the backseats, "South Gardens is a project that Fudd Group spearheaded. The houses there are about a hundred square hectares. Do you live alone, Gerome? Wouldn't the house be a little too empty?"

"Yeah, I live alone. When I bought it, I thought I would get my parents to move in with me, so I bought a bigger unit. Besides, us common folks are a little different from you, President Fudd. We have to consider a lot of factors when it comes to buying a home. Factors like the location and whatnot. We need to plan ahead since the real estate prices in North City are very high."

"You sure thought pretty far ahead, Gerome."

"Yeah. That's right, how did you meet Verian? You guys seem like a pretty loving couple."

Heaton calmly replied, "We don't just seem like a loving couple; we love each other even more in reality."

Verian was speechless.

Why was it so hard to hear that? It felt odd.

Gerome tried to explain with a laugh. "That's not what I meant. You misunderstood me, President Fudd."

"Well, I meant it pretty literally. Riana is quite clingy. She even wanted to go to the office with me."

Verian was struck speechless again.

Since when had she done such a thing?!
