Lucy shut the door again.
As Yanni stared at that door, he could not hold himself back from kicking it again.
Lucy who was leaning against the door could clearly feel the vibrations from the door.
After a few seconds, Lucy heard the footsteps slowly leaving further away… It must be Yanni walking to a different room.
Perhaps he was really furious and lost his patience toward her.
This was going according to her plans but she did not feel happy.
…
Yanni went into the washroom, took the dirty clothes stained with Verian’s puke off, casually tossed it into his laundry bin and took a hot shower for an hour.
After an hour, Yanni changed into his casual clothes, approached the bedroom and realized the door was still closed.
He tapped the screen on his phone and looked at the time. It was already eight.
Aunt Yen asked, “Master, it’s already eight, do you want to eat your dinner?”
“Has Sammie eaten yet?”
“Miss Joyce hasn’t. She made a few dishes and was waiting for you to return. It’s still warm and you can eat anytime.”
Yanni pouted his lips and there was a gentle flash at the bottom of his eyes as he said, “Just wait a little longer, you can go downstairs now.”
“Alright, master.”
After Aunt Yen left, Yanni stood in front of the door and finally softened his tone and said, “Sammie, can you open the door?”
The person on the inside did not reply so Yanni continued, “Your stomach isn’t too well and if you don’t eat dinner, you’ll have a gastric attack. Be a good girl, open up and eat something.”
Yanni was a little perplexed as he clenched his fist while leaning against the door. His head was slightly lowered as he continued to say, “I don’t have a mistress out there and I wanted nothing more than to love you so how could I even have a mistress out there? The person you heard on the phone was Verian. She was completely drunk. She’d even puked all over me. I was also coincidentally at that bar and she even assumed I was Heaton so she clung onto me and refused to let me leave. Nothing happened between us.”
Yanni had never usually been keen on explaining things but he explained a lot tonight. He was afraid of her misunderstanding him.
However, there were no movements from the other side even after he was done explaining.
Yanni helplessly sighed and said, “Sammie, if you don’t believe me, I can call Verian to have her prove everything and if you’re still worried, let’s go get our marriage certificate tomorrow, okay? If I have ever cheated on you, I’ll be run over by a car…”
Before Yanni could finish, the door was suddenly opened.
“What nonsense are you spouting about…”
Yanni was stunned for a moment before letting out a chuckle. He reached out to hold onto her hand and said, “You’re finally not mad anymore?”
“I’m not mad but the break up I mentioned earlier, was serious.”
“I told you, I don’t have a mistress out there and you’re the only one I have.”
Lucy looked at him calmly and said, “You treat me well to the point of me having absolutely no clue on how I’m supposed to repay you. You’re nice, very nice.”
Yanni rubbed his temple before asking her while staring at her, “Then why do you still want a break up? I don’t need you to repay me and I have never once thought about getting anything from you. Sammie, I love you, so I don’t need anything from you. All I want is us being together. Sammie…”
Yanni held onto her hand and immediately hugged her tightly.
“Sammie, you can throw a fit at me and you can act out your tantrums but I don’t ever want to hear about the mention of breaking up in future again.”
Lucy wanted to push him away and even wanted to tell him that she was not Sam but when she opened her mouth, she realized no words would escape her mouth.
She reached out her stiff arms and hovered mid air for a good long while before finally listening to her heart and hugged his waist.
Words finally came out from her mouth but those words became—’sorry’.
Yanni lowered his head to kiss her forehead. He whispered, “Don’t worry about it. Didn’t you make me some food? Are you not willing to let me try your hand?”
“Okay.”
The meal Lucy made for him tonight was actually her way of trying to explain and make things clear to him. However, after struggling several times over, she realized she lacked the courage.
Because, she wanted to stay by this man’s side selfishly. She wanted to savor every ounce of his warmth and love.
Verian reached out to feel her neck.
When Heaton thought about her clinging onto another man, his gaze grew cold and sharp. When Verian was met with his cold gaze, she immediately withdrew her gaze, climbed up onto the bed and knelt next to him. She was like a tiny bird burrowing into him as she said, “I must’ve assumed that man to be you… Please don’t be mad, okay?”
The man did not reply.
Verian’s heart grew even more nervous as she looked up at his handsome face and spoke in a soft tone, “Heaton, I’m sorry…”
“What are you sorry for?”
“I’m sorry for hugging another man while I was drunk. However, I didn’t do other things besides hugging him, right? Did you change my clothes?” Verian frantically asked.
Heaton glared at her coldly and said, “Are you hoping for other men changing your clothes for you?”
Verian bashfully smiled before reaching out to hug his neck and said, “Of course not. It’s good that it was you who changed them for me, it’s good that it was you…”
Heaton pulled her arm away however and was still glaring at her coldly as he said, “What else are you sorry for?”
“Ah? I shouldn’t go out and drink?”
“What else?”
“I shouldn’t tell you… Oh that’s right, how did you know I was drinking at Shallow Bar?”
“The man that you clung onto was Yanni. Fortunately he was uninterested in you.”
Verian cringed. She actually ran into Yanni.
“Ah! Serene and I were drunk last night, where’s Serene?!”
“I called Wilson to take her away.”
It was only after that did Verian calmed down. She nodded but she was suddenly pulled into Heaton’s arms.
“Why did you get drunk at the bar last night alone?”
