John was also stunned after he read the news. It seemed Heaton had not even discussed this matter with him and made such a decision immediately. Judging from the looks of things, had Heaton divorced Verian already?

However, John dared not tell Little Jelly Bean because he was afraid that the little rascal might feel sad since she loved Verian so much.

John patted the little rascal’s head and said, “Just eat first. Grandpa will ask him.”

Little Jelly Bean nodded her little chin seriously and said, “Grandpa, you have to ask him clearly, okay? I don’t want daddy to part with Monty and I only want Monty to be my mommy!”

John entered his study and gave Heaton a call.

“Heaton, what’s going on with today’s news? Have you divorced Verian yet?”

The corners of John’s eyes had a flash of confusion. He raised his brows and said with a sigh, “However, have you ever considered the child in Verian’s belly?”

John was holding onto his walking stick and was very unhappy with how ruthless of a person Heaton had become.

Xavier chuckled from the other end of the call. He said, “I am doing this for the Fudd Group. How can you say that to me, dad?”

After Verian saw the news, her face turned pale.

Xavier was about to be engaged with Yuna?!

As she became emotional, a sharp pain shot up from her belly.

The leader said, “President Fudd said, in order to ensure a smooth engagement, you have to stay in this mansion obediently!”

A few bodyguards then grabbed onto her arm and bound her with ropes whilst a few muscular men watched her closely.

“Let go of me! Let me go!”

“It’s best that you save your strength!”

Due to her struggling, the pain in her belly grew even stronger as her face turned inhumanly pale to the point of having cold sweats. She said, “My belly hurts… you guys have to let me go…”

The few bodyguards assumed she was acting so they coldly exclaimed, “Stop pretending, we don’t believe you! Don’t even think about leaving this mansion today!”

One of the bodyguards immediately switched her phone off.

Verian felt some movements around within her belly while she curled up in a fetal position. She pleaded, “I beg you… please let me go… my belly hurts… if anything was to happen to my child… Xavier will never let you guys go…”

The bodyguards were startled.

“Although President Fudd is getting engaged with our madam, the child in this woman’s belly is still President Fudd’s. If anything was to happen to her child, would President Fudd retaliate toward us?”

One of the bodyguards whispered, “Boss, I think we should give madam a call. If anything happens… it’s still a human life and we can’t be responsible.”

“Alright, you guys can watch her. I’ll make a phone call.”

The leader gave Yuna a call. He asked, “Madam, Verian’s stomach is suddenly hurting and she doesn’t seem to be acting. The child in her belly is still President Fudd’s. Would President Fudd be unhappy if he knew about this? Should we take her to the hospital?”

Yuna on the other end of the call coldly said, “No one can stop Xavier’s engagement with me. The child in her belly is a burden. If anything happens to it, it’s another problem solved for Xavier.”

“Yes, madam.”

“Oh right, take Verian somewhere else, I’m worried that the young master from the Jarret family might look for her. I’ll send you the address.”

Verian was forcefully shoved into the trunk of a black car whilst both her arms and legs were bound.

“Where exactly are you guys taking me? Let me go!”

“If you don’t shut up, we’ll gag you!”

Verian bit her lips and furiously stared at them. She said, “If anything happens to me, Heaton will never let you guys go!”

“Hmph, you’re no longer important to President Fudd. If you are, why would President Fudd send us to keep an eye on you?”

Verian frowned and said, “What did you say? Heaton sent you guys to kidnap me?”

“President Fudd was worried that you, a crazy lady, would ruin his engagement with our madam so he had us keep an eye on you to prevent any unforeseen circumstances.”

One second, two, three…

It was uncertain how long had passed as the man’s eyes slowly opened…

Verian was holding onto her belly as she struggled to move under the shroud of darkness in the wide open beach. She could seemingly hear footsteps of people looking for her. She was startled as she frantically hid herself amongst the bushes.

She covered her mouth tightly, desperately holding back her sharp pain while watching those people split up to look for her.

“Tiger, you can search over there with some men! You have to find Verian just in case she ran off to ruin the engagement!”

After those men left, Verian held back her pain as she climbed her way up.

This place was too dangerous and she had to get out of here!

However, this place was completely surrounded by the sea! How could she escape?

Her helpless tears began to fall…

She covered her belly with both arms and muttered in a soft tone, “Baby… you need to hold on… mommy will bring you to the hospital soon… Don’t be afraid…”
