Verian stared at his flustered red handsome face. She said word by word, “Xavier, I will never let you have your way. Heaton will come back to me.”

“Hmph.”

Xavier scoffed and looked toward her. He said, “Go ahead and try. Let’s see if I’ll disqualify you from the game first or you’d be able to summon Heaton back first.”

Verian pushed him away hard and left the bedroom immediately.

She was unwilling to share the same roof with him not even for a second more.

However, after she bolted out of the room, she had no idea how she could go downstairs.

Would she tell everyone that she would be returning to the Shallow Bay Mansion?

However in everyone’s eyes, now that Heaton had returned, would it be odd if she still wanted to return to the Shallow Bay Mansion?

Was she even willing to live together with Xavier?

It seemed that Verian was unable to do that since that person was not Heaton.

At that instance, she broke down in tears.

Little Jelly Bean waddled upstairs hastily. She was drinking from a small milk bottle in her hands. She said, “Monty, why aren’t you with daddy?”

Verian bent over and looked at Little Jelly Bean. She said whilst holding onto Little Jelly Bean’s tiny hands, “Jelly Bean, if Monty told you that person inside isn’t daddy, will you believe Monty?”

Little Jelly Bean was biting on the straw as she opened her eyes widely whilst nodding her head seriously and said, “I will, I’ll believe anything Monty tells me.”

“Really?”

Did Monty have a fight with her daddy? Monty was actually not acknowledging her daddy anymore!

Little Jelly Bean nodded again and said, “Did my daddy bully you, Monty? Why? Daddy had just come back though and everyone missed him so much too. Why is Monty unwilling to be with daddy anymore?”

Verian was speechless.

Verian added, “Nothing. You came upstairs to look for daddy?”

“Yeah!” Little Jelly Bean was holding onto a box of milk as she said, “I brought some milk for daddy! Daddy wouldn’t leave us anymore after he drinks this and his health gets better!”

Verian noticed Little Jelly Bean's obedient and respectful look on her tiny face and her eyes stung as she caressed the little rascal’s face and said, “Jelly Bean, you’re such an obedient child.”

“Monty, I’ll bring this milk to daddy now then! After that, I’ll come out and play with Monty!”

“Go ahead.”

Not long after Little Jelly Bean entered the bedroom, she left in a cheerful mood.

Little Jelly Bean said, “Daddy said he adores Jelly Bean and loves it when Jelly Bean brings him milk! Monty, don’t fight with daddy now, okay?”

Verian nodded her head as she thought in her heart that although Xavier treated her poorly, at least he was nice to Little Jelly Bean. As long as he did not bully Little Jelly Bean, it would be alright.

The only thing was… when would Heaton return?

If it was exactly as Xavier said that he wanted to forcefully replace Heaton, then would that mean the possibility of Heaton’s return be very low?

“What are you thinking about, Monty?”

“Nothing much. Come on now, let’s play in Jelly Bean’s room. Can we play some puzzles together?”

“Alright!”

After Verian played with Little Jelly Bean for a while, she gave the little rascal a bubble bath. The little rascal was blowing bubbles all over Verian’s body, so she took a shower in Little Jelly Bean’s bathroom as well. After that, she planned to sleep in Little Jelly Bean’s room but she did not expect that little rascal to shoo her away in a child-like manner.

“Monty, it’s not right for you to do this. Daddy has just come back and you should sleep with daddy!”

“But I haven’t slept with Jelly Bean in a really long time now. I just wish to sleep with Jelly Bean tonight. Don’t you like it?”

After Little Jelly Bean gave it some thought, she said, “I do but I still feel that Monty should sleep with daddy! Jelly Bean is no longer a year old. I’m three now and I can sleep on my own!”

Verian’s head hurt as she helplessly watched Little Jelly Bean push her out since she just would not allow Verian to sleep over.

It seemed Heaton’s consciousness had not fully disappeared yet and his reaction was quite extreme. At the very least he had a strong reaction when he was facing Verian and Little Jelly Bean.

It seemed that Verian and Little Jelly Bean were the keys for Heaton’s awakening.

Hence, if he wanted to completely take over Heaton and have Heaton disappear forever, both Verian and Little Jelly Bean had to be gotten rid of completely.

She laid by Little Jelly Bean’s bed whilst her eyes stung. She softly mumbled, “Jelly Bean, I miss your dad dearly…”

At the dining table the next morning.

John told Heaton, “I’ll head to the office later with you. We’ll drop off Little Jelly Bean to the kindergarten on our way there.”

Verian interjected immediately. “Let me send Little Jelly Bean to kindergarten, dad. You both are so busy anyway and besides, I pretty much have nothing to do.”

Fortunately, John had no suspicions toward her. He said, “Sure, you can send Little Jelly Bean off then.”

After Madam Leah served up two fried eggs, Heaton ordered her coldly, “Replace all of my basic necessities in my room.”

Madam Leah was stunned and puzzled.

Xavier explained, “I survived a major disaster so I should get rid of all the bad luck at home. Therefore, all of my basic necessities have to be replaced with new ones.”

Verian’s watery eyes were stunned. He mentioned that everything Heaton had used brought bad luck?

Verian bit her lips and said after she placed her cutleries down, “I’m full. You guys carry on.”

John frowned and said, “Verian, you’re pregnant now, you should be eating more even though you have no appetite.”

Verian nodded obediently. Since Little Jelly Bean had also finished eating, she reached out with her tiny hands to grab onto Verian’s hand and said, “Monty, I’m also done eating, let’s go! Grandpa, daddy, I’m off to school!”

“Go on now, be careful!”
