Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 251

As the sky was dark, Verian returned to the villa in Shallow Bay.

Madam Leah was very worried. "Young mistress, you're finally back! I've made several phone calls to you but they couldn't get through. I thought that you... Anyway, it's good that you're back. It's good..."

Madam Leah hugged Verian as Verian tears began to spill. She cried and said, "Madam Leah... Heaton doesn't know me anymore... He doesn't remember who I am at all..."

The person who she saw today had exactly the same look with Heaton. However, the man said that he was Xavier, not Heaton.

His attitude toward her was unfamiliar and indifferent.

Madam Leah only thought that Verian was talking nonsense. She helped her walk into the villa. "Young mistress, you’ve been running outside for the whole day. You should be hungry now, right? I've prepared your favorite porridge and snacks. You should eat some, take a hot bath, and then sleep well. Stop going off into flights of fancy."

Verian had no appetite. After a few bites, she went upstairs.

On her phone, Serene sent her a message on WeChat.

[Verian, I'll be on leave tomorrow. I'll go to your house to visit you.]

Her eyes glazed over. She remembered that Serene’s master, Wilson Jarret, was a doctor and had been a good friend of Heaton for many years. Would Dr. Jarret know about Heaton’s split personalities?

Verian guessed that Xavier was probably another personality of Heaton.

She immediately called Serene. As the call connected, Verian asked, "Serene, do you have Dr. Jarret's phone number?"

"Ah...? Are you looking for my master for some matters? He's right next to me."

Serene passed Wilson her phone as he picked it up.

"Dr. Jarret, I’m Verian. Heaton is still alive but he doesn't recognize me now. He said that he's Xavier Fudd. I don't know what's going on."

Although Wilson was shocked by the news, he was still very happy to hear it as a good friend.

"I don't know if Heaton has told you that he has split personality disorder. Perhaps the Xavier who appeared in front of you was another personality of Heaton’s."

Verian's eyes trembled, "Dr. Jarret, Heaton doesn't know me now and doesn't want to go home with me. What should I do?"

Wilson pursed his lips and said, "Well, do you know where Heaton lives now?"

"I do, but I'm afraid he'll leave that hotel very soon."

"Just send me the address and I'll go there immediately."

"Okay, I'll go there now as well. We'll meet each other at the hotel lobby then."

...

When arriving at the hotel lobby of where Heaton was staying, Serene and Wilson got out of the car. They saw Verian at first glance. She stood there in her thin clothing in the cold night.

When three of them arrived at the door of Xavier's room, Verian mustered up her courage and knocked on it.

The door opened and Xavier frowned when he saw Verian.

"Didn't I tell you not come to me again?"

She bit her lips and said, "I'm not here to find you. I'm here to find Heaton."

"Is there a difference?"

Serene angrily said, "Heaton Fudd, you wretched man! Verian is pregnant with your baby. How can you just shut her out?"

Wilson looked at Xavier, took out a picture of Heaton, and handed it to him. He said, “You look exactly like Heaton. I'm Heaton's good friend, and I'm sure that Heaton doesn't have a twin sibling who wandered far from home."

Xavier snorted coldly. "Just because I look like this 'Heaton Fudd' you're talking about, doesn’t mean that I’m him?"

Wilson spoke calmly, "To know whether it's true or not, you can follow us to the hospital and find out. If your DNA is the same as Heaton, then you have to go home with your wife."

Serene, who was standing nearby, also agreed to it. "Yes, you can go to the hospital with us if you have the guts to do so!"

A gleam of darkness flashed through Xavier's eyes and as he was about to close the door, Wilson suddenly took out a handkerchief and covered Xavier's mouth and nose with it. Xavier struggled for a few seconds before fainting.

Serene's eyes widened. "Hades Jarret, you're too cruel! Y-You actually drugged Verian's husband and made him pass out!"

"Stop talking nonsense. Come and help."

When they got into the car, Heaton was unconscious, resting his head on Verian's lap.

Verian lowered her head and looked at the unconscious man. She worriedly asked Wilson who was driving, "Dr. Jarret, will Heaton be okay?"

"Don't worry, they’re just normal knockout drops. They only cause a person to sleep for a few hours. There won't be any side effects."

Verian gently stroked the man’s handsome facial features. This face made her miss him very much. However, she did not expect that when they would meet again, he would look at her with the eyes of a stranger.

Serene sat at the front passenger seat. She turned her head and looked at Verian at the backseat with an uneasy look. She comforted her, "Verian, don't worry about it. With Wilson here, Heaton will definitely be cured! Most importantly, Heaton is well and alive now. You should be happy."

Verian nodded. "Yes, he's still alive. That's enough."

...

When they reached the hospital, Wilson made a series of examinations on Heaton.

After an hour, Wilson walked out from the hospital ward.

Verian asked, "Dr. Jarret, how is Heaton?"

"His physical constitution is very good. The car accident hasn't caused any sequelae for his body. His body has almost fully recovered."

"But... Why doesn't he remember me?"

Serene replied positively. "But, the man who undergoes the electric shock is Xavier. Verian would not mind that."

"..."

"You think that Verian is as careless as you? Although the personality that controls the consciousness is Xavier, the body belongs to Heaton. If an accident happens, it'll be very hard for me to justify myself to the Fudd family and Verian."

...

Verian sat in front of the ward for a long time, unsure how long she had been there.

Serene also sat beside her. She said, "Verian, do you want to go home and sleep a little? Wilson and I can take turns to keep an eye on Heaton here."

Stubbornly, Verian shook her head. "I can't fall asleep even if I go home."

Wilson took a look at the ward. He said, "When he's awake, we can start using psychotherapy first. However, I don't think this method will have a great effect on the current personality, Xavier."

Verian asked in a serious manner, "Dr. Jarret, if psychotherapy is useless, is there any other way?"

"Yes, but it's very dangerous."

"What... What method?"

"We use a strong current to administer an electric shock to his brain."

Verian's face turned pale, and her fingers clenched into a fist.

Wilson continued, "This method might be able to awaken Heaton's consciousness. But, I'm not sure. His disorder is very hard to be completely cured."

"Master, don’t describe the matter so seriously. See, you’ve made Verian scared. Can't you give some good news?"

Verian raised her head, her watery eyes locked onto Wilson. She asked him, "Dr. Jarret, will Heaton be unable to come back throughout his entire life? Will the man lying inside forever be Xavier?"

After a long while, Wilson answered her. "Maybe."

Instantly, Verian felt as if she was in a freezer. She felt extremely cold, her bones aching.

Verian stood up, standing outside of the ward. Her hand touched the thick glass as she looked at the unconscious man.

Wilson said, "Do the family members in the Fudd family know that Heaton is still alive?"

She shook her head. "They don’t believe it. But, it’s good that they don’t believe it. I’m thinking that I’ll bring Heaton back to Fudd’s house to meet them after he’s recovered. If I bring Heaton home to meet them now, they’ll definitely be terrified."

Wilson also agreed. "Recently, the internal conflicts within the Fudd Group are plenty. Although Heaton has come back safely, if he goes back now, his disorder can no longer be covered up. At that time, the people who have bad intentions can make him leave his position. After all, such a big group will not allow a person with split personality disorder to be their leader."

"Dr. Jarret, please, you must help Heaton."

"You can rest assured. Heaton is my good friend. I’ll try my best. But… As a last resort, I’ll use some extreme treatment plans. I hope you can understand.”
