Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 226

It was rare for Heaton to surprise her romantically but his efforts were completely and utterly destroyed by Verian when she called him wasteful.

After Verian refunded all fifteen items that were due for shipping, she let out a long winded sigh.

She looked at Heaton and asked, “Heaton, have you never participated in the 11.11 event before?”

“Should I have taken part in such an event?”

Verian was speechless.

The edges of Verian’s mouth twitched. Heaton was extremely rich and it showed on his face. ‘Since I am already so rich, do I even have to care about that meager 11.11 discounts?’

Heaton took out a bank card from his wallet and handed it to her. He said, “The pin is your birthday.”

After Verian accepted the bank card, she asked, “Why’d you suddenly want to hand me a bank card?”

“You’ve spent a lot of money buying that ring, right?”

Verian was stunned. She raised a finger and said with a huge smile, “More than ten thousand bucks. Ever since the Mont family went bankrupt, I’ve never bought anything that costs more than five thousand bucks in one sitting. However, after thinking that it’s a gift for you, I held back my pain.”

Besides, Lain was present. If she had not bought it, would that not be embarrassing for her?

Heaton raised his hand to gently pat her head. He stared at her compassionately and said, “Next time if you’re buying anything, use this card.”

“Using your money to buy you your gift seems very insincere, right?”

“You’re my woman so it’s perfectly acceptable for my woman to spend my money.”

Verian’s heart was beating like a drum as she blushed.

It was rare for Heaton to say anything romantic. However, whenever the man flirted, she could never hold herself together.

Her entire body felt soft as she leaned against him. She held onto his huge hand while toying with the ring on his ring finger. She said, “The more I look at it, the better it is. My taste truly is amazing.”

Heaton scoffed gently as he said, “Self-absorbed much?”

Verian was speechless.

Heaton’s phone started ringing. Even after ringing for a good long while, Heaton did not pick up the call and immediately hung up.

Verian was puzzled. She said, “What if it’s an important call. Why didn’t you pick it up?”

“Nothing more than a prank call. Get up, let’s go home.”

Verian slowly got up and after putting on her jacket, she went out with Heaton. As they just left the office, Heaton’s phone started ringing again. Like before, Heaton did not pick up.

As Verian was just about to peek over to look at who exactly was calling Heaton, the man acted so fast that he already blocked the number.

Verian lamented, “You’re a little rude now. How could you so casually block someone’s number like that?”

“For constantly disturbing me. I’m already being very merciful for not suing that person.”

Verian was speechless.

Verian stared at him. Heaton then raised his brows and said, “Why are you staring at me?”

Verian squinted her eyes, smiled then reached out to hug his waist. She said while sighing, “Nothing. I just felt that my man is very decisive. I love it.”

When one was in love, anything that person did would be significantly charming.

“Heaton, I feel like I’m being charmed by you now and you seem flawless. I’m afraid that you’d find me incompatible someday.”

The man cracked a grin with his thin lips. “Even if you’re not charmed anymore, you’d still find me perfect.”

This man was truly arrogant and self-absorbed.

However, why did she love him so much?

Heaton’s second personality was cold, ruthless and violent.

Not long after, Xyla and Heaton broke up.

What a comical joke would it be for someone like Xyla to stay with a mental health patient.

She had been living in America for all these years and had a few relationships but they all ended up failing. Perhaps it was due to the spectacular man she met when she was younger which set her standards extremely high.

After reaching the peak of such high standards, she realized that she could no longer accept another man.

Hence, she applied to return to her country.

However, she never expected that the moment she returned, she was told by Lain that Heaton would soon be marrying his girlfriend!

Xyla chugged down some alcohol again. She stood up and walked out the bar while clutching the document folder. “How can a man that I have always been thinking of in my heart be allowed to marry another woman?”

Lain grinned before slowly tasting her wine.

There were some things she could not do and had to rely on someone else’s hands to get dirty.

It did not matter if it was Verian or Xyla. They were completely clueless to Heaton’s world and she was the only woman that truly understood Heaton.

After Verian was done with her shower, it did not take her long for her to fall asleep in his arms.

Just as Heaton was about to hug her and turn the lights off to go to sleep, his phone chimed. It was a text message.

When he opened the text message from the random number, his dark pupils contracted slightly.

“You can block my number and avoid me all you want but I heard that you’re about to get married. I’m not sure if your fiance knows about your other side.”

Heaton clutched onto his phone and immediately deleted the text and blocked the number.
