Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress novel Chapter 922

Chapter 922: You know what’s the most interesting part?

"So, your name is not Plus One, huh?" one of the women interviewing Jonathan mused. "You’re Jonathan. What a nice name."

"Has anyone told you your name suits your face?" another one commented coquettishly. "It has a nice ring to it."

"I know, right?"

"God has given." Suddenly, Penny’s voice was heard nearby, making the women turn to check.

There, approaching them, was Penny, her bodysuit bouncing a little with each step. Penny was smiling, stopping a few steps from them, her eyes on Jonathan.

"Penny, what are you talking about?" asked one of the ladies.

Penny smirked, glancing at the ladies. However, she didn’t answer because Jonathan beat her to it.

"The meaning of my name... as others say," he mused, setting his eyes back on Penny. "What a pleasure to be approached by the... god of this fan club."

"Am I interrupting your social interactions?"

"Not at all." Jonathan flashed the ladies a smile and politely excused himself. "I’ll see you around."

The ladies were evidently disappointed, but seeing Penny’s bodysuit and how ridiculous she looked in that uniform, they didn’t take it to heart. After all, there was no need to feel pressured or sad since there were other fish in this wide pond.

If Jonathan fancied Penny, then there was still Zoren, Hugo, Slater — or just other people, except for Slater and Atlas Bennet. Those two might have good looks, but they were hopeless when it came to romance.

"You finally approached me," was Jonathan’s first remark to Penny, stopping a step from her. "I’m surprised you know the meaning of my name."

Penny tilted her head to the side, looking at his face. "I read the Bible from cover to cover back in the day."

"Back in the day?"

"The Bible was the only book I could get my hands on as a death row inmate," she winked at him. "Have you read it?"

This time, he didn’t answer immediately. "You’re more blunt than I expected. Considering the play you, your husband, and your brothers showed me... I thought you’d do a lot of politics without having to say things directly."

"I don’t like politics," she uttered. ’The sober me doesn’t like it either, but she’s been doing it just to make you know that she can still beat you at your own game.’

"The only good thing about you retaining your memories from the past and sharing this special thing in my head is that... we are the same," she breathed out, ignoring his question. "No one understands you better than those who are going through the same thing. So, I understand that you think you can see through me as I can see through you."

Her brows rose as she studied his reaction and how it changed from a smile to a restrained one. "So, I only have one message for you, my dear. Whoever ended you in the past... don’t be afraid of him anymore. He will not do it again, because I’ll beat him to it."

After saying that, Penny released the lapel of his blazer and watched him straighten his back. Her lips curled into a sinister smirk, her eyes glinting.

"It’s a nice chat," she expressed amicably. "See you around, Jonathan. I suppose we’ll be seeing each other more often soon."

Having said that, Penny turned her back on him and walked away. But just as she took a step, Jonathan spoke.

"Who made you think it’s a he?" His question made her stop while he took a step, standing behind her. Jonathan sneered as he lowered his head until his chin was almost touching her shoulder. Snapping his eyes up ahead to the crowd, he smirked.

"The person who ended me... is not a he." Slowly, he slid his eyes to the corner, watching her look back at him. He smiled the moment they locked eyes. "I’m sure you’re not interested, but I have something you’d find interesting. After all, this happened when you were dead."

"Penelope Bennet, do you know who killed Zoren Pierson?" He tilted his head slightly to the side, smirking even more as he saw curiosity flicker in her eyes. "You know what I find very interesting throughout this reunion? It’s your brother’s relationship with Zoren Pierson. You should watch your Second Brother, especially. You thought he was dead, but no, he wasn’t. Otherwise, Zoren Pierson and Finn Davis wouldn’t have a hole in their heads."
