"Hello, guys!! I’m here~!" Benjamin waved, watching the yacht move in his direction. "Hello~!"
His mouth stretched from ear to ear, looking a bit excited. Well, Benjamin had been idling at home and was dying to get out. Since the "island" group would be coming to the town, he volunteered to pick them up and meet the rest.
When the yacht arrived, Benjamin jumped from his spot to where the yacht docked. He was like a kid, watching everyone wait for the yacht to settle before walking out.
"Heh." He grinned, placing his hands on his hips. "I thought I’d wait an entire day before you guys showed up!"
The first people who came out were Atlas and Allen. As usual, Atlas simply cast him a cold glance, while Allen greeted him politely.
"I think they did some sort of troubleshooting that’s why it took this long," Allen said kindly, standing beside Benjamin to give way for those behind him.
"Oh?" Benjamin nodded, and when he saw the next person walking down the ramp to the pier, his brows rose. "Oh! Second Brother, are you fine now?"
"Yes!" Hugo’s eyes were sparkling. "I have to be. Otherwise, I won’t be able to enjoy this trip if I just stay sick."
"Ha... ha..." Benjamin and Allen laughed, watching Hugo move on as if he were looking for a fight. "I guess there’s no need to worry about it."
"He’s been like that since yesterday," Allen leaned to Benjamin’s side to whisper. "In fact, he was planning to go to the town last night after recovering from his flu. However, we were already too tired. I guess that’s where the pent-up excitement and eagerness are coming from."
Benjamin and Allen nodded at the same time, eyes still on Hugo.
After Hugo swam to the island, he had apparently caught the flu. Considering what he did and the temperature of the water at night, they were surprised that was all he got. In other words, Hugo had been left behind in the past few days because of his condition. So now, his overflowing energy was a result of his recovery.
"Achoo!"
Benjamin and Allen flinched when they heard Hugo sneeze. Now, they couldn’t help but wonder if Hugo had truly recovered, or if his will to enjoy this vacation was giving him a false surge of energy. Their thoughts were interrupted when Slater quietly walked past them.
"Oh, Third Bro..." Benjamin trailed off, brows knitted. "Huh? What’s wrong with him?"
"He’s been like that throughout our trip here," James, who was just behind Slater, stopped in front of Benjamin and Allen. "Just don’t mind him."
Benjamin clicked his tongue. "Does he act like that because he went on a date with my cousin? Tch. I haven’t asked him what happened on that date."
"Why don’t you ask your cousin?" asked Allen, out of pure curiosity.
"You think I haven’t?" Benjamin sighed. "But all she said was that it was a date she can’t even remember. All she knows is that it was so-so and she really doesn’t care about it."
"Oh." Penny nodded while her mouth formed an "O" shape.
Zoren gazed at Benjamin and sighed. "I think you’ve underestimated your cousin’s brother complex."
Just as those words left Zoren’s mouth, a loud motor engine revved. As the tires screeched, everyone turned to the motorcycle that had stopped a few meters from them. Atlas, Hugo, and Slater, who were just idling several steps away from the others, also lifted their eyes to the motorcycle.
"Not bad," Hugo nodded, eyes fixed on the motorcycle, not the rider.
Atlas, on the other hand, tilted his head slightly. However, his focus was not on the female rider but on her helmet. The helmet had a pinwheel on top, which bothered him. As for Slater, his mouth curved down, evidently displeased to see Mint.
’We already agreed that she’d stay away,’ Slater pinched the bridge of his nose. ’But she just shows up where all my siblings are.’
Not that Mint scared him, but Slater was aware that his siblings were quick to catch on. If Mint slipped up, Atlas, who had once been suspicious of Slater about saving his life, would be suspicious of him again. Penny and Hugo would be the same — these two had too many questions for anyone to ignore.
As Mint took off her helmet, she shook her head to let her short hair fall. She then snapped her eyes at the two separate groups, who weren’t far from each other.
"Hello!" she greeted, her eyes squinting from ear to ear. "Mint’s here!"
