Open Marriage, Broken Promises: When Love Turns to Ashes novel Chapter 73

Lukas's mother immediately stood up and said, "This is definitely fake! Someone must be jealous of Lukas and Urja's relationship, and they deliberately made this video to cause confusion!"

Lukas's father echoed, "Yes, yes! Our son isn't like this!"

My father ignored them and coldly turned to Lukas, "Lukas Clark, explain this!"

Lukas's face alternated between pale and flushed, and he immediately said, "It's fake! I already have such a wonderful wife like Urja. How could I possibly like someone like that low-level woman!"

"That intern, she's not even worth one of Urja's fingers!"

"Slap!"

Just then, Farah White entered to deliver some documents, and froze when she heard those words.

Seeing her, Lukas quickly looked guilty but, in an effort to prove his loyalty, said loudly, "Farah White, I'm officially firing you! You are no longer allowed to step foot in the company again! Get out!"

Farah White had never been humiliated like this before and immediately ran out crying.

Lukas turned to my father, looking anxious and almost begging. "Dad, please believe me!"

He looked so frantic that it seemed like he was on the verge of kneeling.

"Whether it's real or not, let the authorities do the investigation."

My mother shot Lukas a furious glare and looked at me. "Urja, what do you think?"

"Whether it's real or not, let the authorities do the investigation," I said, maintaining a neutral expression, then looked directly at Lukas. "But Lukas Clark, I don't want a dirty man."

"Good, just like my daughter! I always knew you had guts!"

My father nodded in approval.

"Your mother and I will wait for your final decision!"

With that, my parents walked out.

Lukas's parents immediately ran after them, desperately explaining and trying to hold onto the situation.

"Urja, listen to me, it's not what you think…"

"Since you've already made your choice, I don't need to keep dragging this on."

With that, I stood up and started to leave my office.

Lukas panicked and grabbed my hand.

"Urja, please, let me explain…"

I pulled my hand away and looked at him coldly.

"Lukas Clark, don't make me look down on you."

Without another word, I walked out of the office.

The results of the investigation came in quickly—the video was real, and no frames had been edited.

The next few days, I was busy handling company affairs and discussing divorce proceedings with the legal department, completely ignoring Lukas's constant attempts to reach me.

He sent me countless messages and made phone calls every day, all of which I ignored.
