Sam's POV:
"Hi,"
I gasped in surprise when Luke suddenly appeared in front of the counter with the brightest smile on his face.
"O - Oh, h - hi..." I stuttered in surprise.
It's Saturday and I know he still has work today, besides, he didn't tell me he's going to the coffee shop and take note... with a dashingly handsome look. He's wearing a plain white shirt, jeans, and white sneakers.
"Come on, sweetheart, you may want to close your mouth before I get insane and kiss you right there." He teased me with a wink.
"Oh, my---" my mouth dropped open, but realizing what he had said made me close it right away. "So, what can I do for you, Mr. handsome? What are you doing here when you said you have an important meeting today?" I asked instead with a smile which he reciprocated.
"Well, first of all, thanks my love for calling me handsome, I appreciate it." He then took my hand with his.
"Tss!" I couldn't help but chuckle as I rolled my eyes.
"And as for your second question, well, I'm here to pick you up."
"To pick me up?" I asked him, confused.
"Yup, you heard it right." he nodded. "Let's go on a date. I want to go out with my lovely girlfriend."
I held my breath for a few seconds when I saw the look of admiration in his eyes as he mentioned the last three words.
"B - But I still have a lot of things to do, you know, besides, don't you have a meeting today? You told me yesterday that you have a meeting today by ten a.m..." I paused, looking at my wristwatch and then at him. "...so what happened and where are you taking me?"
"Yeah, I was supposed to have a meeting today, but my assistant informed me earlier this morning our client canceled his appointment due to some family matter --- I don't know what kind of matter was that I didn't ask and as for your last question, my dear, I will take you to a place where you can see and taste heaven on earth at the same time."
"Ahh..." The only word I had formed in my head as a nutty idea came to my head. "Taste heaven on earth? Hmm... why do I feel like you mean something else by those words?" I bit my lip as I asked him with a mischievous grin.
"Oh, my Jesus, what the heck are you thinking? Whoa! That's not why I mean!" He shook his head as he laughed at my question.
"What?" The grin on my face instantly disappeared and was replaced by a blush when I realized what I had just asked him.
"Wow, sweetheart, I didn't know you were thinking that thing," He emphasized the word thing.
"Huh! Oh, my..." I couldn't help biting my lower lip as the naughtiness I just had earlier was now eaten by embarrassment.
"But it's alright, I love you so much and I won't disappoint you---"
"Jeez, stop it! I was just kidding!" I whisper-yelled, squeezing his hand and looking at him with wide eyes.
"No, sweetheart, it's fine with me," he shrugged, still laughing.
"Argh! Luke Marcuz!"
Well, like most women do when they get embarrassed, I pretended to be mad at him so he would stop teasing me.
"Fine, I'm sorry," he said, but still has the same grin on his lips, so I seriously stared at him and that's it... he stopped talking, and instead, he brought my hands to his lips.
See? That 'pretended-to-be-mad' way is more than a hundred percent effective to him.
"So where are we going?" I asked again, trying to change the subject.
But Dana came out of nowhere before he could even speak.
And since the orders were increasing, we can no longer continue what we were talking about. We have lost track of the time that we even lost time to have lunch. We only noticed it when we all felt hungry. It was already 1 p.m. when Dana called us out for lunch.
"Whew! I wasn't expecting the volume of customers today!"
I smiled as I handed Luke a clean towel to wipe his sweat. I don't even understand why he still looked so handsome in sweat and so sexy in a pink apron. He really helped us earlier and never once complained even though his feet were already in knots while serving customers' orders.
"Because today is weekend, sweetheart," I said barely a whisper before wrapping my arms around his waist.
"Hmm... wow!" I bit my lip to suppress the giggle that wanted to escape from it when I noticed how surprised he was when I hugged him. "Even though I have no idea why you suddenly hugged me today, I like it."
And then I felt his lips on top of my head as he wrapped me in his arm.
"Thank you, thank you for helping us today,"
"Ahh... I will always do it whenever I have time, sweetheart, so you don't have to thank me."
"But you expected us to go out today, it's just that you didn't expect to be stuck here helping us, so I'm sorry for that too."
"Hey..." He grabbed me by the shoulders and made me look at him. "Helping you is not something you should apologize for, sweetheart. I told you, I'm happy whenever you are happy and I would love to be where you are... always."
I let out a deep, long breath before snuggling into his embrace again.
"What do you want to eat? I'll make you whatever you want to eat," I kissed him on both his cheeks as I asked him, but I didn't expect him to give me a wide-cheeky grin and drew me into a hug again.
"I will eat whatever you prepare for me,"
I just bit my lower lip hard to kill the overflowing excitement that slowly creeping into my body at that moment.
