~~~You are the one who makes me happy when everything else turns to grey. Yours is the voice that wakes me mornings and sends me out into the day. You are the crowd that sits quietly listening to me and all the mad sense I make. You are one of the few things worth remembering. And since it's all true, how could anyone mean more to me than you?~~~
"Hi,"
I hitched my breath when Luke suddenly appeared in front of the counter. It's only 8 in the morning and we have just opened the coffee shop so there are no customers yet.
"Luke," I mentioned his name as my heart started beating erratically inside my rib cage.
"Good morning," he smiled, and oh... my heart has already jumped out of my chest.
"Good morning, aren't you going to work?" I asked because today is Monday and he should have been in his office at this moment.
"Actually, I just came from the office and we have a meeting at 8:30."
I frowned. "Then why are you here? What are you doing here?"
"I just came to see you," he smiled, and even though it surprised me, I couldn't help the smile that spread between my lips. "Uhm... do have plans for tonight after work?"
"What do you mean by plans?" I asked in confusion.
"If you have something in mind like you want to go out after work or you want to go shopping, you know, plans..."
I bit my bottom lip then smiled.
"No, I have no plans for tonight," I said shaking my head.
"Good!" He exclaimed.
"Good? How is it became good then?"
"Because I want to invite you for dinner,"
I gulped... I gulped the excitement that had instantly jumped in my chest.
"Dinner..." I repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"Uhuh..." He leaned forward, putting his elbow on top of the counter as he stared at me. It's as if he allowed me to stare back at him and realize how handsome he was at that moment. "At my place,"
I blinked at what he said.
"At your place... it's as if you're telling me that your place isn't mine."
"Of course, it's yours too, My place--- everything that I have is yours too." He shrugged, smirking.
And my eyes went wide as I suddenly realized what I had just mentioned.
"Oh, what I mean is that we are just neighbors so, I live where you live too."
"Hmm... is that so?" He chuckled at I couldn't help hitting his arm.
"Luke Marcuz!"
"Ouch--- I'm just kidding," He continued to laugh as he took my hand. "I want to show you my cooking skills."
He then said seriously but, I don't know why I didn't take my hand out of his grip. I just let him hold it, while my other hand was gripping the computer mouse hard due to the excitement exploding throughout my sanity.
"So you just came here to tell me these things, huh?"
"Yeah, and of course, to see you. I hadn't had the time to knock on your door earlier because I had to go out at 5 am, we had an early meeting with Caleb's team."
"Jesus Christ, Samantha!" I gasped as his voice suddenly rose to an octave higher. "Aren't you afraid that someone might lure you and do something bad to you on the street?"
"And who will do such a thing?"
"We don't know," he shrugged. "Somebody who desperately wants to get you!"
"Uhuh? Really?" I raised an eyebrow, a playful smile also curled up against my lips. I admit I liked the way he mentioned my full name. "But there's only one person I know who wants, I mean, who desperately wants to get me---to get me back," I said staring at him and waiting for his response.
"Ohh..." he let out a throaty laugh when he realized what I was saying. "That's another thing, Sam, yes, it's true, I am desperate to have you back, but I won't let anyone touch your nor the strands of your hair because I swear, I'm going to pull their head out of their body!" He said seriously but it brought a wider smile to my lips.
"Whoa! Am I supposed to be scared or supposed to be thrill inside?" I asked him, smirking and I gasped when he suddenly pulled both my hands.
"You are supposed to feel the latter, sweetheart,"
"Alright, as you say so," I shrugged, chewing my lower lip to kill the excitement that was currently eating me up inside.
"Don't do that!" He warned, staring at my lips.
"Don't do---" I was about to ask what he was referring to but realizing the meaning of his stares, I immediately let my poor lips go.
I noticed that he took a deep breath as he lowered his gaze. It's as if he was relieved or something and I gulped when he looked at me again.
"I'll pick you up later after work," he pinched the tip of my nose. "Expect me before 7 tonight."
"Seven? But how will you prepare dinner if you're going to pick me up at 7?"
"Just leave it to me, sweetheart," he smiled and then kissed my hand. "Anyway, as long as I want to stay here and stare at you the whole day, but I still have work to do and a meeting to attend."
"Alright, take care," were the only words that came out of my lips as I didn't want to sound disappointed... disappointed that he now has to go. The least of all I've wanted to feel since I realized that I'm still in love with him.
