The Lost Heiress: Never Forgiven (Sierra Xander) novel Chapter 507

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Professor Martin shot Sierra an unhappy look.

“If I accepted you as my students, then of course I’m involved. There’s no such thing as being ‘unrelated.’”

He didn’t like hearing that kind of talk.

“Besides,” he added, “we’ve been through a lot, sure—but who wouldn’t envy me?”

And why not? He had an eye for talent. Each student he’d taken on was more capable than the last. Other people wouldn’t even have the chance to go through what they had.

Autumn and the others laughed. “That’s right, Professor. Your reputation’s rock solid now.”

After a few lighthearted exchanges, Professor Martin finally asked,

“I saw some reports online. Are they all true?”

You couldn’t trust everything on the internet—most of it was exaggerated.

“They are,” Sierra nodded. “White’s not who he appeared to be.”

“He was too bold for his own good,” Professor Martin muttered, shaking his head.

He’d recognized quite a few names on the victim list.

He’d honestly thought they were dead. No one could’ve guessed their deaths were staged, and they’d been locked away and used in human experiments.

Even now, Professor Martin still managed to joke about it.

“Good thing your teacher isn’t all that special, or else you might not have seen me again.”

That got another round of laughter.

Seeing that his spirits were high, Sierra stayed to chat for a bit longer before heading out. As she left, she reminded both the professor and the seniors to stay alert.

Victor was unpredictable. No one knew what he might try next.

Autumn and the others all promised to be careful. Worst case, they’d just stay home.

Thanks to White, all their current projects were on pause. They couldn’t move forward until the investigation was complete.

The authorities were still checking whether they had any involvement in White’s illegal drug production.

On the way back, the bodyguards remained on high alert, wary of any incidents.

Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and Sierra returned safely to the old manor.

Jonathan rushed over the moment he got the call. Seeing that she was unharmed, he finally relaxed a little.

“Don’t worry,” Sierra said. “He doesn’t mean to hurt me.”

At least, not for now.

She just didn’t understand—did he really just want to see her once?

Jonathan, however, could easily read Victor’s intentions. If their roles were reversed, he’d do the same—scope out the other side’s weakness.

And his weakness was Sierra. That was no secret to anyone.

Victor wouldn’t hurt her yet. Not until they’d met face-to-face.

Soon, the time came for Jonathan and Victor’s scheduled meeting.
