Chapter 476 Smoke and Mirrors
Chapter 476 Smoke and Mirrors
“You can’t give up the things you love just because of something that might happen, right? Don’t you think
so?”
White kept pressing, his tone persuasive. Sierra didn’t give a clear answer–neither agreeing nor refusing- but her expression betrayed a flicker of hesitation.
White knew when to back off. He dropped the subject, letting the idea settle in her mind.
But Sierra’s thoughts were on a very different track.
From that day on, she and White grew noticeably closer. He no longer badmouthed Johnathan, but he often brought up the current state of global affairs–subtly, cleverly.
And Sierra… looked more and more like she was wavering.
Eventually, as their project neared a breakthrough, she gave–in–saying she planned to return to her own research once the current project concluded.
No one was happier than White.
“Sierra, trust me–you’re going to be one of the greatest scientists in history. One day, the whole world will know your name.”
“I don’t need all that,” Sierra replied calmly. “I just want to follow my own path.”
Where White was wild and ambitious, Sierra was composed, steady.
“Does he agree with you doing this?” White asked suddenly.
Sierra pressed her lips together, not answering. She changed the subject instead.
White’s eyes glinted, a knowing smile tugging’at the corner of his mouth.
Leaving the lab, Sierra ran into someone she’d hoped never to see again. She tried to avoid the encounter -but it was too late. Johnathan’s aunt had already spotted her.
“Stop right there!”
Sierra instinctively stepped back. The building’s security had already moved to block the woman. Compared to last time, she looked eyen older, more worn out. Clearly, the past month had not been kind. Johnathan had made it clear–no second chances. Once the month was up, the purge began.
She had been one of the first to go.
She’d embezzled billions. Everything she owned had been liquidated to repay the losses, but it wasn’t enough.
And Johnathan wasn’t stopping there–he had taken her to court.

Chapter 476 Smoke and Mirrors
She had once been glamorous and respected. Now, she was disgraced and avoided like the plague,
Even her closest friends had cut her off. Her own brothers treated her like an enemy.
Desperate and out of options, she had come to Sierra–because she couldn’t even get near Johnathan
anymore.
But she still carried herself like she was the Wynn family’s pampered daughter, while treating Sierra like the nobody she used to be.
Sierra didn’t even spare her a glance.
Soon, the bodyguards stepped in. One moved to Sierra and said politely, “Ma’am, this way.”
Sierra nodded and calmly walked to her car.
All the aunt could do was watch helplessly as Sierra walked right past her–untouchable–while she stood behind the line, blocked, powerless.
That night, Sierra finally asked Johnathan about her.
“Is she in that bad of shape now?”
“She embezzled billions. Of course she’s panicking.”
Johnathan said it without a hint of pity.
If Tammy hadn’t gone so far, he might’ve left her with a sliver of dignity. But she’d been relentless, and he made an example of her.
Tammy was the first domino to fall. Once she was taken down, others quickly stepped forward to return what they owed.
Sierra never meddled in Wynn family affairs. She didn’t comment on whether Johnathan’s actions were too harsh.
Frankly, Tammy didn’t deserve sympathy.
Even now, she still acted like she was above everyone else.
“You should be careful,” Sierra warned. “She might do something reckless.”
“She can’t touch me. And I’ve increased your security, too. Don’t go out alone.”
Johnathan wasn’t worried about the lab–it had the highest–level security protocols. Even his own guards weren’t allowed beyond the ground floor
