The Lost Heiress: Never Forgiven (Sierra Xander) novel Chapter 391

Chapter 391 Debts Unspoken

Susie’s voice trembled slightly.

“You’re only alive because of his mother. Do you understand? It’s not just me who owes him-you owe him

too.”

Jose froze. He had never heard any of this before and looked utterly confused.

“I don’t understand what you mean.”

Susie gave a bitter smile. “Wendy and I were good friends. But back then, I was just like you—proud and stubborn. Wendy outshone me in every way, and I couldn’t accept it. I used to cause her trouble all the time. Once, I made a bet with her, and I ended up putting myself in serious danger. I really thought I was going to die. But in the end, it was Wendy who saved me. And because of that, she was targeted.”

As she recalled the past, Susie trembled uncontrollably. She didn’t go into further detail but added, “Jose, there’s so much you don’t know. But remember this-Johnathan doesn’t owe us anything. We owe him. Don’t let yourself go down that path again.”

She took a deep breath and continued, “I’ve already booked your flight and finished all the arrangements. You’re leaving the country in three days.”

After that conversation, Jose remained unsettled.

He knew his mother wouldn’t lie to him, so everything she said must have been true. But she was clearly still hiding more from him.

What could possibly scare her, even with the Wynn family’s status?

When she’d mentioned getting into trouble, she’d looked genuinely afraid.

Should he really leave?

He hadn’t wanted to before, but now he was starting to think it might be better to disappear for a while-at least until everything blew over.

He had done things carefully. Surely no one could trace it back to him… right?

Just as the thought crossed his mind, his phone rang.

It was a number he didn’t recognize. At first, he didn’t pick up, but then a message came through. “If you don’t answer, you’ll deal with the consequences.”

So when the call came again, Jose reluctantly answered.

“Who is this?” he asked anxiously.

A familiar voice came through the line.

“Jose, how could you forget me so quickly?”

“Quinn!”

Jose immediately recognized her.

“That’s right! And I have to thank you, Jose.”

Her tone made Jose’s expression change. He knew she was threatening him. In that moment, he regretted ever helping her escape. This woman was going to be trouble.

“You’ve got guts.”

She’d just gotten away, and she was already coming to him again?

“I don’t have a choice. I need your help.”

“I can’t help you.”

Jose was about to hang up when Quinn added, “If I get caught, it won’t end well for you either. You know how my brother is.”

Jose took a deep breath. “What do you want?”

“Relax. I’m not asking you to help me run. I’m not leaving just yet.”

“Then quit wasting my time.”

“Alright then. I want you to get my kid out.”

Jose immediately hung up.

He didn’t need to investigate to know that Dora was under heavy protection. Anyone else trying to get close would definitely be suspected-except him.

But if he took Dora away, there was no chance he’d get away with it.

He was supposed to leave in three days. He didn’t want to stir up more trouble-but things were quickly slipping out of his control.
