The Lost Heiress: Never Forgiven (Sierra Xander) novel Chapter 387

Chapter 387 Blood and Blame

Mateo and the others quickly moved to Sierra’s side, trying to comfort her.

“It’ll be okay, Sierra. The best doctors in the country–and the most advanced equipment in the world–are in there. He’ll be fine.”

Sierra couldn’t take in any of it. All she heard were the words he’ll be fine. She pressed her lips together.

“Right. He’ll be fine. He has to be.”

She fell silent after that, her eyes fixed on the emergency room doors.

Her condition was worrying. The others exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to console her–truth be told, they were all scared too.

None of them had ever seen Johnathan this badly hurt before. Rumor had it that when he was brought in, he was covered in blood.

Wayne and Chase had only just arrived, having gotten the news late. Both men wore grim, unspeakable expressions.

“What happened exactly?” Wayne asked.

He’d rushed over the moment he heard his eldest grandson was injured, but hadn’t been told the details.

Maddox stepped forward. “We checked the surveillance and the vehicle. Someone tampered with Johnathan’s car. The brakes failed. He probably didn’t realize until it was too late. He swerved to avoid hitting pedestrians and crashed.”

And unfortunately, the car he hit happened to be a large freight truck. Otherwise, given the safety features of Johnathan’s car, his injuries wouldn’t have been this severe.

Wayne’s face turned cold.

He knew what his grandson was capable of. If the car had been tampered with, Johnathan should’ve noticed. What had distracted him?

And more importantly.. he chose to swerve? To crash on purpose just to avoid hitting someone?

When had his cold–blooded grandson become so soft?

But now wasn’t the time for questions. Right now, he just needed Johnathan to make it out alive.

Wayne snapped to attention. Get more doctors. I want the best in Albanos in that operating room–now.”

“And start an investigation. I want to know who had the guts to touch someone from the Wynn family.”

The room stiffened. Maddox and the others exchanged nervous looks. Wayne didn’t act often–but when he did, it always ended with results. Albanos was about to be turned upside down.

But truthfully, they wanted answers too.

Stone hesitated, then said, Could it have been Quinn?

He didn’t say it lightly–but the timing was too suspicious.

Quinn escaped, and now Johnathan was nearly killed.

Sierra hadn’t been paying attention to the conversation–until she heard that name.

“She escaped, Stone explained. Faked a medical episode to get transferred to the hospital–then slipped out.”
