Chapter 377 A Perfect Opportunity
Jonathan immediately understood what Sierra meant. His first instinct was to object, but then he remembered what she’d said earlier. After a moment of thought, he nodded.
“Alright. I’ll come up with a plan.”
Rather than constantly staying on guard, it was better to deliberately expose a weakness and lure the snake out of hiding.
If it wasn’t Quinn, then fine. But if it was, this would force her to show her true colors.
So just a couple of days later, Quinn received word that Jonathan was going on a business trip.
“Why are you suddenly heading overseas?” she asked.
“Someone I hired said they’ve found a lead on Timothy. I need to check it out. I can’t keep sitting back and doing nothing,” Jonathan replied, half–truth and half–lie.
At the mention of Timothy’s name, Quinn gave a perfectly timed display of fear. She clutched Jonathan’s hand.
“Jonathan, will it be dangerous?”
At that moment, she truly seemed like a concerned little sister–completely flawless.
Jonathan stared at her for a few seconds before saying, “We can’t move forward until we find him.”
He added, “Besides, I suspect what happened to Sierra last time might be connected to him too. That’s why I have to go.”
He knew Timothy alone wouldn’t be enough to fool Quinn, so he deliberately added Sierra to the story.
This time, Quinn didn’t say anything more. She just reminded him gently, “Be careful, Jonathan. Come back soon.”
“Don’t worry,” Jonathan said. “I’ll be back in no more than a week. If anything comes up while I’m gone, talk to Mateo.”
Then he added, “And don’t go running around.”
“Okay, I got it.”
Quinn personally took Jonathan to the airport. She watched him walk through the gate, confirmed he really boarded the plane, and only then headed back.
She hadn’t originally planned to make a move on Sierra so soon. But now–this was a rare opportunity.
Jonathan was too clever and always watching too closely. It was almost impossible to get to Sierra under his nose.
But now, with a chance like this, she wasn’t going to let it slip through her fingers. She’d had enough.
Every time she saw how much Jonathan cared about Sierra, it made her want to skin her alive.
Why was it that the one person she could never win over gave all his attention to Sierra so effortlessly?
Once Sierra was gone, she would be the most important person in Jonathan’s life again.
After Jonathan had “left,” Sierra kept going to school at the usual times, with a driver picking her up and dropping her off each day.
Quinn knew this was the perfect time to strike. She hadn’t initially wanted Sierra dead. But after last time, she realized Sierra mattered far more to Jonathan than she’d ever expected.
