Brada could only understand two of them, the rest were lost on him. He gaped in shock.

‘I was just bluffing. Who knew he could actually do it?‘ Brada thought, incredulous.

Brada scoffed, “Hey, don’t go thinking you’re hot stuff just because you can speak a bunch of languages.”

Yosef replied coolly, “I don’t think so.”

Brada, unable to keep up the conversation, abruptly changed the subject.

“Hey,” Brada asked with a curious smirk, “what went down between you and Skylar? How’d you two end up like this?”

Yosef’s already icy gaze turned several degrees colder. “That’s none of your business.”

Brada snorted, “You’re so stingy, won’t even let me ask?”

Brada said with feigned innocence, “I was just asking to avoid any triggers, wouldn’t want to accidentally anger Skylar over something from your past.”

Yosef fixed him with an icy glare. “Even with things as they are between Skylar and me, there’s no room for you to wedge in. So you’d better give up on that idea right now.”

Brada wasn’t having any of it.

Brada thought, a smug smile on his lips, ‘Skylar and he don’t act married at all.

‘For all I know, they might already be divorced, just putting on a show for the kid.

‘If they’re about to split anyway, why shouldn’t I make my move?

‘Hell, even if they’re still together, I can still go for it.’

Yosef warned him coldly, “Stop making moves on her. This is my final warning.”

“Let me make myself clear again. I’m not giving up on Skylar. Just you wait, I’ll be the last one standing.” After Brada finished speaking, he deliberately bumped into Yosef, trying to provoke him.

But Yosef had no interest in playing childish games. He simply sidestepped, refusing to meet him head–on.

Brada couldn’t control his strength and toppled forward.

He tumbled down the steps, but Skylar managed to catch him. “What’s wrong with you?” she asked, alarmed.

“Ow, Skylar, I can’t feel my legs anymore…” Brada moaned dramatically, sprawled on the ground, but still managed to call out to Skylar.

Skylar asked with concern, “Where does it hurt?“Brada pointed pitifully at his foot and whined, “I think I twisted my ankle. Ho hurts right now.”

Without hesitation, Skylar crouched down to check on him.

Skylar removed the silver needles from him and said, “That’s it. Stand up

and see for yourself.”

Brada wasn’t in a hurry to get up. First, he tentatively wiggled his foot on the ground.

‘Wow, the pain’s completely gone, just like that,‘ he thought in amazement.

Brada started to push himself up, but then, as if struck by a sudden thought, he feigned weakness and pouted, “Skylar, my whole body still hurts, especially my foot. I can’t stand up, it hurts every time I try to move.”
