Chapter 134-1
Finlay and I walked through the village as we shared what we had learned during our time apart. We made our way into the works and ended up at our viewpoint.
“How are you doing? That is a lot of information to take in,” I said.
“I’m okay. But I don’t think it has sunk in yet. My worldview is slowly shifting to adapt,” he told me. I put my arms around him and rested my head on his shoulder. He hugged me back. “I feel sorry for my brother. That is something new,” he said after a while.
“I can understand why. It’s sad to think that if your parents had let him be who he was, even if that meant he wouldn’t become Alpha, he would have grown up to become a happy and productive member of the pack.”
“Yeah. It’s never a good idea when you try to force a square peg into round hole. Now I find myself wondering what he really wanted out of life. What did he like to do? I mourn that I never got to know that part of my brother,” he told me. I could hear the pain in his voice. I rubbed his chest and he looked down at me, “Thank you, Red,” he said. I knew he wasn’t talking about the chest
rub.
“Always,” I simply said and kissed him.
“What are we to do with them?” he asked as I again snuggled into his embrace.
“I was thinking we should reach out to our allies and see if any of them has contact with Sarah’s old pack. If they are willing, maybe the two of them can move to that pack?” I suggested.
“I knew you would have a plan,” he told me.
“I do my best.” We stayed in our spot for a while. As we headed back, we both were in a better mood. “We are in agreement that we won’t force our pup into a role they don’t want or can’t handle, right?” I asked as we were almost home.
“We are in agreement. The only one who will decide what the pup will do, is the pup. We will guide them the best we can,” he agreed. We asked Jake to reach out to our allies and see who had a connection to Little Lake pack. It took us a day and then we found an ally who also was allies with them. They agreed to set a meeting with their Alpha and us. Finlay and I agreed we shouldn’t say anything to his mother or Sarah before the meeting. We didn’t want to get their hopes up. Finaly and I both joined the meeting and after greeting everyone and some polite small talk, Finlay got straight to the point.
“Alpha Marcus, Luna Tina, you know about my brother,” he started and they nodded. Alpha Marcus had been at the alphas‘ meeting. “My brother’s mate, Sarah, is originally from your pack. We are reaching out to see if her family is interested in having contact with her again.
“Oh,” Luna Tina said, looking happy. Her mate smiled at her.
“To be honest, Alpha Finlay, we were hoping that would be the case. Sarah’s family has been worried about her since she mate your brother, and even more so this last year with the stories we heard about the pack. I had been trying to talk your brother in letting Sarah at least talk to her family. I wasn’t successful,” Alpha Marcus told us. I smiled and felt relieved.
“We would love for her to talk to her family, and if she isn’t set on staying in your pack, we would like nothing more than to welcome her back to ours,” Luna Tina said.
“She will be happy to hear that, she isn’t comfortable in our pack. Which is understandable,” I said. “Would it be possible for me to call you Luna Tina and discuss some things?” I then asked. Earning me a look from Finlay. There were parts of Sarah’s story I didn’t want to discuss openly in a meeting. I had given Finlay a summed up version. I thought Luna Tina should know the details to be able to help Sarah.
“Yes, I would be happy to do that,” she agreed.
“My mother has grown close to Sarah. Would it be possible for her to transfer to your pack as well?” Finlay asked.
Chapter 134-2
“I have no objection to it,” Alpha Marcus said. We continued to discuss some of the finer points and booked a time the next day for the first call between Sarah and her family. When the meeting was over, Finlay mindlinked Matilda to ask his mother and Sarah to come to our office. We explained the situation and they both looked at us with big eyes.
“I can talk to my parents?” Sarah asked.
“Yes. They have been trying to get in contact with you ever since you left your old pack,” I told her again.
- me.
“Good, stress is never good and especially not when you are pregnant. How is the pup?” I looked up at Finlay, but he looked as surprised as me.
“I feel like a crappy mate, but I can’t answer that. It’s up to you if you want to try and build a relationship, or cut her off, or ma, e not make a decision now and wait to see if the change lasts,” I told him. “No matter what you decide, I will support you,” I added to let him know he wasn’t alone.
“I think I will let it be for now. There has been enough family drama for now.” I nodded and we headed for dinner.
The talk between Sarah and her parents went well. Over the next few days, they had daily contact and Tamara sometimes joined in the calls as well. Both of them had been granted to stay in Sarah’s old pack. Both Finlay and I were relieved to know they had a safe place to go to and to know we didn’t need to extend their stay. Even if our relationship with both of them had become better, it was unnerving to have Sarah flinch every time Finlay walked into the room and there was an awkwardness with his mother. She tried, but it didn’t feel all the way genuine. The pack noticed it as well and I could see the looks they gave Sarah as she reacted to Finlay. They loved their Alpha and to see her think of him as some monster rubbed everyone the wrong way. The day they finally left for the airport, I breathed a sigh of relief.

Chapter 134-2
“If I had known what the two idiots were doing back then, I would have stopped them,” Matilda told us as we stood and watched as
two warriors drove the two on to the airport.
“It’s not your fault. At least now we don’t have to try and find a reason why things have turned out the way they did,” Finlay told
her.
“True. And now they are gone, the pack can get back to normal,” she agreed.
“Are you okay with letting your sister leave?” I asked.
“Oh yes. I think we make better sisters with some distance betweens, that way I don’t get the strong urge to kill her when I think about her stupidity,” Matilda said with warmth. Both Finlay and I laughed and I gave her a hug.
