Game of Destiny (Amie and Finlay) novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113-1

I woke up feeling something was off. My brain was too sleepy to figure out what was off. It was still dark outside and Finlay was sound asleep with his arm slung over me. I smiled and tried to make my brain work. I scrunched my nose. Was there something new in the house that was throwing off my sense of smell? I took in a deep breath to identify what it was and froze.

“Finn,” I said and poked him in the side.

Whu?” he asked.

“Finn. Wake up.”

“Sweetheart, love of my life, the star that guides me, it’s too early. Get back to sleep,” he mumbled. For a moment I considered letting him continue sleeping, but then I would just be awake waiting for him.

“Finlay you better wake up,” I told him a little sharper. He opened his eyes and looked at me.

“This isn’t about a quicky, is it?” he asked and wiggled his nose. His subconsciousness was already picking up on what I had

discovered.

“No. It sounds nice, but it isn’t why I woke you up at three in the morning,” I agreed. Then there was silence. He looked at me, I

looked at him.

“So?” he asked.

“Has anything changed?” I asked.

“Did you get a haircut and I didn’t notice it? In that case, I’m sorry,” he told me. I giggled.

“Idiot! I wouldn’t wake you in the middle of the night for something like that.”

“Then wha…” He fell silent mid sentence. His eyes grew bigger and he scented the air. As his eyes grew even bigger, so did my smile. He threw his head back and howled. I put my hand over his mouth as I laughed.

“Love, the pack is sleeping,” I reminded him

“What are they sleeping for when we are having a pup!” he exclaimed behind my hand. He pulled my hand away and kissed me. He pulled me closer and pushed me onto my back. He placed kisses down my body until he got to my stomach. He looked at it and then looked up at me. “A pup,” he said as if he couldn’t believe it. I put my hand on his cheek and smiled at him.

“A pup,” I agreed. He placed gentle kisses all over my stomach and then came back up and kissed my lips.

“You just keep making me happier,” he told me.

“I think this is on both of us.” He laughed.

“I guess so. Wow. This is big. We will be a family of three.I smiled as I listened to him. “We will need to get a nursery set up. We need to pup proof the house. What if they walk around and fall down the stairs! He looked so worried I thought for a moment he would get out of bed to fix the issue at once.

“Love, I’m not due for around seven months and even then, it will be at least another seven months before the pup starts walking. We have time,” I pointed out and raked my fingers through his hair.

“Right,” he said with a little chuckle. “We will make a list and we will prioritise it, so we start with the most pressing things.I giggled and kissed him.

It sounds like something we should do during the day.

Agreed. You should get back to sleep, I think you need more sleep when you are pregnant, and more food, I think.”

“Don’t get any ideas of me laying on the couch while you feed me all day long. Won’t happen. We both know Matilda will make sure

I eat appropriately. And I’m too excited to go back to sleep.

“Yes, my aunt will be my greatest ally for the next couple of months

“So, do you want to do what you thought I was waking you up to do I asked.

“What?he thought for a moment and then grinned. “I think it’s a good way to work off some of the adrenaline,” he agreed.

As I was getting ready to head over to eat breakfast with the pack, Finlay hovered around me.

“I haven’t forgotten how to dress myself since yesterday,” I told him with a smile and kissed him.

“I know. Just making sure nothing goes wrong.” I giggled.

“Yes, the threat of exploding socks and strangulating bras needs to be taken more seriously,I agreed, giggled some more, and kissed him again.

“When we walk into the dining room, you stay by my side,” he told me as we were leaving our house.

I binge read this!!! now I have to wait….

Chapter 113-2

Finn, honey, we are going to have breakfast with our pack, we aren walking into enemy territory,I pointed out.

“Another pup!Medow called out and headed for me, I saw Finlay take Medow engulfed me in a tight hug and I felt Finlay’s panic spike for

step to intersept her, but I manoeuvred around him. second.

“Congratulation’s!” Jake said and shook Finlay’s hand. Soon we were surrounded by the pack, those who hadn’t planned on eating breakfast joined us as word spread in the pack. Even Martin’s family and the other two families who had sought shelter from the Ocean Shore pack came. Finlay did his best to stay by my side, keeping a firm arm around me. The women of the pack smiled at him and the men teased him mercilessly. Except for Ramses, he was in the same situation with his pregnant mate and nodded approvingly.

“What is all this fuss about?” we heard Matilda ask. She had been out on an errand and no one had mindlinked her. The pack parted so she could see us. Her eyes grew big as she scented the air and I saw tears form in her eyes. I rushed over to her and hugged her. “A pup?” she whispered as she hugged me tightly.

“A pup,” Finlay said as he walked up to us. He placed a hand on my back and one on his aunt’s shoulder.

“It was about time, I have been waiting for almost seven years for this,” she told me as she let go. She patted me on my cheek. “Now, let’s get you some breakfast,” she told me. I was guided to our usual table and Finlay sat on my one side, Sam on the other. When Matilda came back with my breakfast she just looked at Sam. He got up from his seat so she could sit down. Then he got a new chair and placed it between Matilda and Medow. Medow giggled

day per

“What?” I asked. “The only meeting I know about next week is the one where we will meet representatives from my old pack to sign the alliance between our packs.

“What needs to be changed about it? We have been planning it for over three weeks.

“Are you telling me I can’t go and meet my parents for the first time in almost eleven years?I asked with a low growl.

You thought I wouldn’t mind skipping a meeting like that?” I asked

It’s not like you won’t see them at all. You will just have to wait ul we bring them back,” he insisted.

What about Elder, Becky and Armino?”

“Right. Maybe we ask them to come here when the pup is born?” Finlay suggested.

“I think you should listen to Jake, Alpha,” Sam said.

“Finn, I may love you. But get between me and seeing my family and you will see how nice it is to sleep in the car until this pup is born.” Again, I growled. Finlay looked at me like I had gone mad. Then he looked at Jake and Sam.

“You can’t seriously think I will let my pregnant mate travel half across the country to a meeting with the wolf who rejected her and then tried to win her back?” he asked the room.

“We will revise the drive. If we leave a day earlier we can schedule several stops along the way,Jake said.

“We will make sure you and I are by her side at every moment,” Sam suggested.

“We will call my brother and let him know so he can tell James. It will be fine. I won’t budge on this, Finn.”

“Fine, he surrendered. “But you won’t be alone. Not for a second. Eher Sam or I am at your side at all times. Preferably both.”

“Sure, sounds like a fair compromise,” I agreed.

“You think so?” he asked, sounding like a petulant child.

“I do, and I will let you go all over protective Alpha mate until we leave. As an extra bonus.

“The best thing you can do is to keep her happy,” Sam told Finlay.

“He is right. It’s more dangerous to both the Luna, and the pup, if she is upset and anxious, than it would be to let her come along under well organised circumstances,” Jake agreed.

“And to the pack,” Shelly added. Finlay sighed, placed a kiss on my cheek and nodded.

“I don’t want you to be upset,” he told me.

“Thank you. I love you.

“You say that now, but it didn’t sound like it two minutes ago,” he pointed out and then he chuckled, I got up from my chair and sat down in his lap to make sure he wasn’t too upset with me.
