Chapter 269
Yorick
I can feel that Cyra wants to take the lead, so I sit back.
“When Alpha Stellan came to the Academy to force his mark on me, he made a comment about putting a pup in me at the same time, che begins and Dr. Walker snorts.
“Well, that would have been impossible. You are on birth control. I thought he knew that.”
“He said he replaced it with a placebo,” she says.
“Impossible, I did the injections. How could he have… son of a bitch,” he snarls, standing up. I’m up and standing between him and my mother and mate in an instant.
He jolts, looking at me, then looking behind me. “You think I did it?” he asks.
“Did you?” I growl.
He scrubs his face with his hands. “We’ve had an influx of unwanted pregnancies in the pack lately. I’ve been trying to figure out why it keeps happening. With younger mothers, it isn’t as big of a deal, but with the older she–wolves, the ones who have already had their pups, it has put them at higher risk. I have several she–wolves right now that are borderline high risk because of their age. I’d have to confirm, but I believe all
of them were on the hormone implants.”
I turn and look at my mother. This is getting into her territory.
“How long has this been happening?” she asks.
He turns and looks around the office, finding what he was looking for. “There are four of them, all of them have turned up pregnant in the last three to four weeks,” he says, grabbing some files and handing them to my mother. “I am a doctor! I would never go against my Hippocratic oath,” he growls.
“That’s good to hear,” my mother says, quickly looking through the files. “All four of these women were on hormone implants,” she says, looking up at me. “Can you get Kennedy for me?”
I reach out in the mind link for my sister. In the past, connecting to my family link was easier than other links. Now, as an Alpha of my own pack, I find that it’s not as easy as it was before. She’s a leader in a separate pack. I still have the connection to her, but my connections to my pack are now as strong as my family connections.
‘Kennedy, can you come to the office?‘
‘Be right there,’ she says.
“Who is the manufacturer of these implants?” my mother asks as she goes through the files.
As she and Dr. Walker talk, I open the door for Kennedy.
“What’s up?”
“Kennedy, this is Dr. Walker. Dr. Walker, my daughter Kennedy. She’s a medical student. Ken, can you go with Dr. Walker to get the…pment of hormone implants that he’s been using and test them to see if they are placebos?”
“I take it you weren’t aware of the placebo issue, doctor?” she asks him.

Chapter 269040
“I was not, he growls. “But it explains a lot.”
Did Stellan have access to the pack hospital?” my mother asks.
“No. He would have no reason to be here and I don’t allow just anyone to wander around my hospital,” he says.
“That’s good to know. You and I will get along well, doctor,” my mother says, smiling up at him.
“I’ve heard a lot about you, Dr. Hill. It would be my honor to work with you while your mate is here helping to manage our pack,” he says,
“Please, call me Yara,” she says, instantly charming the doctor.
“Then you must call me, Kevin,” he says, before walking out with Kennedy.
“So, how could he have exchanged these implants for placebos, mom?” I ask.
She shrugs, still looking through the files. “The distributor, the delivery person, there are numerous ways he could have switched out the implants. We’ll have to report this to the Council. They’ll want to know why we’re seeing a spike in high–risk pregnancies, but it’s good that ri be here. We all know the rule in my hospital,” she says, smiling as she sets the paperwork down and stands.
“What rule is that?” Cyra asks as she stands.
“No one dies in my hospital,” Mom says. “Now, let’s go get your bloodwork done. With this many unwanted pregnancies in the pack, we need to be sure.”
We follow my mother to a medical room where she begins looking around, “Let me go find what I need. You two get comfortable. I’ll be right back,” she says, stepping out again.
“No matter what happens, no matter if you are or aren’t pregnant, we face the future together,” I say to my mate.
She smiles and leans into me. “I’m not going to lie, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything that is happening all at once. But if my choices are to have you and be overwhelmed by life, or to not have you and feel settled, I choose you, all day, every day.”
“And I will always stand by your side, working with you to overcome whatever obstacles come our way,” I say, leaning in to kiss her.
I’ve just started deepening the kiss when the door opens and my mother walks in with Dr. Walker and Kennedy.
“What tests did you want me to run on these mother?” Kennedy asks.
“Have a seat on the table, Cyra,” my mother says before answering Kennedy that she wants to test the level of hormones in the remaining
boxes of implants.
My mother comes over and begins preparing Cyra’s arm to draw blood.
“Luna Kennedy, perhaps I should run the tests. I know your mother said you’re a medical student, but you’re awfully young for this sort of test,” Dr. Walker says, making me smile.
“I graduated high school with a double major in college, Dr. Walker. I’m currently in my third year of graduate school,” Kennedy tells him.
“But you’re so young,” he says, frowning at her.
She shrugs. “I grew up in my mother’s hospital.”
“She’d be done with school already if her mate wasn’t so passionate,” my mother murmurs.
I look up at Kennedy who smiles at me. She holds her hand up to Dr. Walker to stay silent and I send Cyra a mind link to stay quiet as well,

The readers' comments on the novel: The Pack's Doctor
I'm so excited!!! Yorrick's story is finally being written (i had already lost hope on this) - thank you!!! It's really statisfying to read all those hints about who will be mated together. And it's nice that Yorric's story includes not only him, but also Wendy. I'm being kept on edge how Henry's story will roll out. *about gibberish parts: yeah, there are quite a few, but come on, it's not like we pay for the service to have the right to require good quality! I'm just happy i'm able to read what i like!...
157 is all gibberish as well. I can't undeestand anything about the famiky leaving, & what her mom is saying about the work sge needs to do in her relashionship.. the auther seriously needs to rewrite or edit all these errors....
The beginning of Chapter 156 is all gibberish.. wth??!!?? Why does this happen all the time 🫤...
Great story but im at chapter 137 & there's a lot of parts where the words are all scrambled leaving the reader to have to try and desipher what is being said. That kind of disrupts the flow .....
It's my favorite book of all the books about warewolves that I've read! I come back to reread it again and again, after finishing another not so enthralling story from another author. I will soon know this story by heart, but it's still way more pleasureable to read than all the rest :)...
