Chapter 465 Power Plays
The bodyguards could only look on helplessly.
They weren’t remotely in the same league as Nolan’s men.
How were they supposed to go up against that?
“Ms. Lynn,” one of Nolan’s guards warned, “our boss made it clear: if you keep making a scene, it won’t matter who your fiancé is–your future won’t be smooth.”
It was a warning, not a threat.
But Elaine wasn’t the least bit intimidated. “I’m the eldest daughter of the Lynn family. I’m marrying into the Hayes family with all of Lynn Corp as my dowry. Whoever becomes my husband will be the one in charge of Hayes Corp! If Nolan doesn’t marry me, he’ll regret it. I suggest you move aside now. Once I become Mrs. Hayes, you won’t even have a place to stand.”
But Nolan’s men didn’t budge.
To them, only Nolan’s orders meant anything.
Elaine wasn’t the one signing their paychecks.
Realizing she couldn’t scare them into submission, Elaine turned to her own guards and barked, “Take them down.”
The four bodyguards exchanged uneasy glances–none of them wanted to be the one to spark a fight.
A careless move here could land them in a hospital.
Besides, Tyson had already warned them: stick close to Elaine, keep up appearances, but don’t go head–to- head with the future head of the Hayes family.
“Apologies, Ms. Lynn.”
Two guards immediately stepped forward and grabbed her arms.
Before Elaine could even process what was happening, she was being dragged back toward the car.
“What are you doing?! Are you insane?! I told you to fight! What the hell do you think you’re doing? Is this what Tyson told you to do?!”
Elaine was shoved into the backseat, her shouts ignored.
After all, none of them were powerful enough to challenge Nolan–not even close.
From the second floor, Eliza watched the scene unfold.
Seeing Elaine hauled off by her own guards, Eliza couldn’t help but remark, “Looks like Tyson doesn’t really see her as anything special–just a tool to grab more power.”
“That’s how he’s always been. He sees nothing but profit,” Nolan replied.
He’d known all along Tyson’s people wouldn’t clash with his. Elaine could scream all she wanted–she was never getting through.
Chapter 465 Power Playa
“I’ll go let the Leaf family know we’ll visit them in person tomorrow.”
“Sounds good.”
Meanwhile-
Elaine’s guards had already taken her back to Westbrook Hotel.
The moment she stepped out of the car, she slapped each of the four men across the face.
Her expression was blazing with fury.
Tyson had just arrived at the hotel as well.
The guards had called him on the way, so he’d shown up quickly. Seeing Elaine’s thunderous face, Tyson walked up to her. “Did my men upset you? Why are you so angry?”
He always spoke with that same calm, detached smile.
Elaine had no intention of throwing a tantrum in front of him, but she still voiced her discontent.
“Henry asked me for help today, and Eliza and Nolan stole the ring he wanted me to showcase. I just brought these guys to go ask for it back, but they didn’t even listen to me. You should take your people away. I’ll have the Lynn family handle my security from now on.”
Tyson immediately understood what she meant—she was sulking because the bodyguards hadn’t obeyed her. But there was a trace of playful pouting in her tone, too.
