“Get lost.” Britney tried to slam the door shut, but she was no match for Soren’s strength. Her jaw clenched tightly with frustration
Soren pressed on, “Britney, 1 told you before. That night was an accident. I thought Molly was you. How else could I have touched her
Britney’s face darkened like a storm cloud. “That’s between you and Molly Smith. It has nothing to do with me. Get lost!”
Soren wasn’t budging. “Britney, we had years together. You’re going to throw it all away over one little mistake? If you hadn’t kept holding out on me would I have fallen for Molly’s trap?”
His shameless words made Britney’s blood boil. “Go!” Britney kicked him hard in the shin.
Soren winced, his brow furrowing from the pain. But instead of getting angry, he softened his voice. “Come on, Britney. You have hit me and yelled at me. Can you forgive me now?”
Britney almost laughed at his sheer audacity. ‘Forgive him?‘ she thought. ‘He sleeps with my best friend and has the nerve to ask for forgiveness
Just as Britney stood there, not knowing how to deal with this shameless man, a firm hand settled on her shoulder.
Britney turned around to find Gavin standing behind her, tall and solid.
He towered over her by a full head. Standing there beside her, she suddenly felt safe. Yes, Gavin’s height did make her feel secure.
“Who are you?” Soren stared in shock. He hadn’t expected to find a man in Britney’s room.
Britney had always been conservative. They’d been together two years, and she’d never brought Soren home.
It wasn’t until her parents died in that accident, and he helped her handle the funeral arrangements, that he finally got inside her house. Even then, she
wouldn’t let him stay overnight.
He’d only been gone three months, and now Britney had brought a man home.
When Britney caught him with Molly, she was furious. That’s why he’d left for three months–to let her cool off.
But then he started hearing rumors that Britney had found herself a sugar daddy. That was what brought him rushing back.
At the hotel, Soren had seen Britney enter that Rolls–Royce through the staff entrance. He couldn’t see Gavin’s face then, but now, studying Gavin quickly, he was certain. This had to be the man everyone talked about–Britney’s wealthy benefactor.
Gavin’s refined elegance made Soren feel utterly ashamed of himself.
Soren thought bitterly, ‘But Britney and I are cut from the same cloth. There’s no way she could actually be with someone like Gavin. She belongs with
me.‘
“Get lost.” Gavin didn’t bother answering Soren’s question.
Seeing Soren’s darkening expression, Gavin pulled Britney closer into his arms. “She’s mine.”
Britney glanced up at Gavin in surprise but didn’t deny it. Right now, she just wanted Soren gone from her sight.
“Hey, she’s my girlfriend!” Soren protested.
“Go to hell,” Britney shot back. “The moment you betrayed me, we became nothing to each other.”
“I don’t accept that!” Soren’s face twisted with frustration.
“Looks like you’re choosing the hard way.” Gavin’s expression turned cold as he pulled out his phone. “I don’t accept it! Britney, I refuse to break up!”
