Chapter 100

He watched his father descend the aircraft and look in the unmistakable evidence of a minder at the bottom of the metal stairs.

“What the fuck is that?” Corrado asked.

“Andreas. It’s Andreas.” Molinaro snapped back as he ordered the soldier to collect the head and shove it back in the bag. “Where did you get

this?”

“From your house, sir. I was asked to pick it up at your house. I brought it straight to you. I didn’t tamper with it or anything.”

“It can’t be real,” Corrado looked at the bag. “Someone is forking with you. The boys are safe.”

“The boys are in my fucking bag!” Molinaro snapped angrily. “This bag!” He swung it, “comes from my house, my office where my wife and my sons live. Someone got to them, Corrado. Someone fucking got to them. I need to get home and make sure my wife is safe.”

“we have plans.”

“Fuck your plans, Corrado. I need to find out why my sons are dead.” He was moving with alacrity

“Fine. Go home. Do you want me to follow you?” Corrado called after him.

“Well yes, Corrado, I want you to follow me because this,” he lifted the bag. “reeks of your overgrown fucking grizzly bear of a son! I want to know whether or not he killed my wife and if he did, I want to know why. You assured me this was not going to get back to him until we made our move and somehow I feel like it has already reached him.”

“I’ll be right behind you but there is no way he knows.” Corrado reassured him. “My guess is your sons must have been involved in something else they weren’t sharing.”

The single finger from Molinaro made Torq snicker.

“He’s holding it together relatively well. I don’t believe I would be so calm.” Natale said of Molinaro.

“I would not be.” Cicciu finally joined the conversation. “I’d be shooting first, asking questions later and taking everyone to hell with me.”

“Molinaro’s father was cooler than cool. You never make a fuss in public ever. My grandfather liked chaos. I live in his path.” Torq said quietly. They watched as Molinaro and Corrado were both put into vehicles before the rest of the team made its way to the waiting cars.

“Here comes the soldiers.”

As every vehicle began to fill up the sounds of struggles and men losing their lives filled the airwaves. Every single one of Lozano team were efficient and quick, making sure not a single peep made it into the area outside their vehicles.

Once the bodies were pushed into the open trunks of the SUVs, the convoy started to move.

They were on the outskirts of the airfield when Torq warned his team to hold back. “Showtime motherfuckers. Let’s see how Corrado likes watching one of his friends evaporate,”

Hitting a button on the device in his hands the second car blew first, then the first car went after. It caused Corrado’s car to swerve violently to miss the explosions.

The sound inside Corrado’s car was frantic. The men all listened attentively as they hoped Torg’s assessment of his biological father was on the

“Holy fuck what was that?” the soldier driving Corrado’s car hissed.

“That was a fucking hit. Fuck! Fuck! Drive you imbecile. Keep driving. The Molinaro family were targeted. Why? Corrado started yelling. “Why the fuck did they go after Molinaro? I swear to fuck those boys were involved in something they shouldn’t have been!”

“They were idiot,” Torq commented to his group, “affiliation with you is a death sentence Corrado. They should have known better. Now they do.” His men all snickered.

“How do you know they were targeted?” Carlos, who was with Corrado in the car, questioned him angrily.

“Because our car was not hit idiot. They gave him his son’s head and then took him out.”

Carlos was immediately troubleshooting. “I’ll call our contact here to see if there is any information as to what was going on with him.”

Tito looked up from his computer where he sat in the front seat. “He’s calling Zanelli.”

Carlos spoke again, “the phone is shut off. He was told to expect my call. There is no fucking way this isn’t connected. If he’s not answering he’s either part of it or he’s dead too. There is something wrong, sir. We’re going to need to change course. We need a safe place to land and strategize until we figure out how Molinaro and Zanelli are connected.”

“Fuck, call Mariani. The whole fucking world thinks I hate the guy and they’re right. He wants a piece of a pie he’s not entitled to. He’s such a fuck up his ancestors must be rolling in the grave. I’ll let him in if he gets us a place to figure this shit out. He wants to help he can fucking help. He might know what the hell the Malinaro boys were into. They must have crossed Zanelli somehow,”

Torq whispered, “so fucking predictable.”

In seconds Edgardo Mariani was agreeing to bring Corrado to his house for safety.

“My boys are out hunting for Alcee and her son for you, Corrado. With any luck, by the time you get here, they will be here too.”

“Fine. Just make sure I have a secured way into your estate.”

“Done.”

“Mariani’s very

y sure of himself.” Bastiano commented curiously. “Could Mercurio have fooled us?”

“No.” Kylen’s voice cut in. “I dug so deep into his shit I hit stomach on my way through. He also gave us intel on his business and he’s doing well for himself. He’s been working with a family out of Chicago. He’s not going to let Edgardo fuck him over. He wants this too much. His brothers want this. His mother wants this. The family wants prosperity again. He gave us details so we would check him and know he’s not fighting us. It was a peace offering. He’s tired of this bullshit. It’s my opinion, he gave the intel knowing we’d look into it. He wanted us to know he was breaking with Edgardo and how serious he was. He wants a treaty with Torg. He’s not going to go after the strongest family on the fucking continent for a pissant like Corrado or his own father”

“I agree,” Torq said seriously. “Mercurio gave us the information on purpose. I’m not worried about him fucking us over.”

“You’re confident.” Natale’s voice spoke through the comms.

“I am Natale. He’s not coming for my son or wife. He’s gunning for his own father. Just like me.”
