Chapter77
“I never knew you held this much hatred inside you for me,” I said, shakding my head in dismay. “All these years, I thought we were brothers. But now, I see a pathetic stranger full of unresolved anger.”
“Because you fucking killed my Ava, you killed our child,” he snarled. I froze, stunned by the truth.
“Ava
was pregnant?” I asked, the words trembling on my lips..
“I would’ve told her, but then I discovered she was pregnant,” Taylor’s voice cracked. “She was happy, truly happy, and I couldn’t. I couldn’t shatter that.” He spun away, his fist slamming into the glass window with a resounding bang, the sound echoing the turmoil

“But you told her!” Taylor’s face transforming from anger to anguish as he spun back to face me. “She fucking broke up with me, and just a few hours later… I’m told she’s dead. His voice lowered to shattering, raw tears streaming down his face.
In two swift strides, he closed the distance, his face inches from mine. He grasped my collar, fingers tightening like a vice. “You killed her, Keith. You killed my child,” he spat, eyes blazing with hatred, flaming from tears and rage.
A few seconds later he released his grip, stepped back, and wiped away tears with a shaking hand. “You know what her last words to me were?” He paused, a bitter smile twisting his lips. “That I wasn’t half the man you are.” His voice dripped with resenting sarcasm as he scoffed.
“Everyone thought you were the better man,” he chuckled dryly. “My family, our friends, Ava… they all idolized you. The golden boy, ever loyal and honest.” He laughed with an unamused sound, as he applauded slowly
“That day, I vowed to make you suffer as I did,” he seethed with distaste. “I wanted you to taste the same humiliation, the same regret, and the same crippling mistake. But I knew I had to play the long game” His eyes narrowed, a vengeful glint shining through. “I needed to be your friend, your confidant, your shadow. And wait for the perfect moment to strike.”
“I knew Rose was the weakness you never asked for,” his voice dripping triumph. “And this year, with your wedding taking place, I saw my chance.” He revealed.
“I simply fed Rose the poison she was living her life without hope Hope that you, were still waiting for her.” His laughter sent chills down my spine as he disclosed the twisted theories of his scheme.
Taylor’s words should have cut deep, but I was already drowning in a sea of pain. The pain of losing Karissa a raw wound that made his betrayal feel distant, almost abstract.
Taylor’s grin turned into a hostile smile. “The only thing I regret is that Karissa wasn’t pregnant then,” he clicked his tongue in mocking disappointment, “but fortunately, that’s no longer a concern – she is now.”
“That’s it, you fucker!” I snarled, lunging at him with explosive fury. “No one hurts my woman and my child.”
I grabbed him and unleashed a vicious blow, sending him stumbling backward. But he swiftly regained his footing and charged forward strongly, as we clashed in a burst of punches, our fists slamming into each other’s abdomens and jaw with rapid force.
We collapsed back, panting and battered. Blood dripped from my nose and Taylor’s mouth, our faces bruised and swollen from the relentless exchange of blows.
“I thought of you as my brother,” I spat, outrageously. “Yet, all along, you were right by my side, plotting to destroy my life?”
“Did I ever think of you as any less of a brother?” Taylor barked, still panting heavily. “All I ever asked of you was one thing: to keep quiet, to not tell her,” he exclaimed, wincing in pain as he spat out a mouthful of blood.
“We were on the verge of marriage, starting a family, and what did I get instead? A life I never wanted!” He shouted.
“Nothing I did ever mattered. My own dad thought of you as the ideal son – honest, kind, and hardworking, Meanwhile, I was the disappointment. Ava hated me, and I wanted the one person you loved to despise you just as fiercely. His piercing words were evidence of his sickening goals.
“I guess we both got what we deserved, didn’t we, Taylor?” I replied sorrowfully. “For being ungrateful for what we had.” I wiped the

blood trickling from my nose.
“We received what we deserved?” I said, “We threw away the good things in our lives, blinded by selfish, sinful desires. Now, we’re left with nothing. “I dabbed my handkerchief on my nose, stemming the flow of blood.
My words struck a chord, and Taylor’s gaze dropped, his shoulders sagging with the convincing load of truth. When he lifted his eyes again, they were brimming with tears, his struggles to blink them back only making them well up more. For a moment, the hardness melted away, revealing the vulnerability of our broken souls. In that moment, I saw the fragile glimpse of my friend, with a caring. person he once was, beneath the resentful man he’d become.
“You wanted my life,” I muttered haltingly as I gulped the thickness in my throat. “And I dreamt of having one like yours,” I continued, the words dripping with regretful misery.
“I only ever wanted Ava and our baby,” Taylor whispered, trembling with longing
“And I’ll never forgive you for ruining everything,” his voice swelled with deliberate rage.
