Chapter 101
His voice dripped with sarcasm.
A surge
of anger flared within me.My wolf couldn’t stand his mockery and snapped in frustration, “THIS WAS OUR PRIVATE AFFAIR! EVEN IF HE’D SAVED US, EVEN IF HE WAS OUR BOSS, OUR BONDING RELATIONSHIP WAS NONE OF HIS BUSINESS. HE SHOULDN’T BE SNEERING AT US LIKE THIS.”
But my confusion was greater.“I never gave him my password. How did he get in?”
From entering the complex, to getting past the security gate, to the elevator… how did he breach so many security measures?
Xander saw my expression and his own shifted from mockery to puzzlement.
Jason stumbled to his feet from the floor, reeling toward me. The heavy scent of alcohol made me wrinkle my nose.“How did you get up here?”
He slurred.“Did you sleep with him?”
His question was completely irrelevant. He gripped the armrests of his wheelchair, his roar deafening. He completely lost control, transforming into a wolf and howling uncontrollably.
I slapped him across the face.“Are you crazy? What kind of drunken tantrum is this? Get out! Go find your… your sweetheart!”

I forcefully pulled my hand away.“Can we talk about this tomorrow? Go back to sleep. Once you’re sober, we can-‘

Before I could finish, Jason suddenly hugged me tightly.
He kept muttering apologies, tears streaming down his neck and into my collar. A grown man, reduced to a blubbering mess. His massive wolf head pressed against my neck, his breath hot and burning. But all I could feel was his tears, warm and cool at the same time.
I froze. I couldn’t describe the feeling, only that it was absurd and heartbreaking. This wasn’t the bonding severance battle I’d imagined. He was the Head Warrior of the Pack, always proud, arrogant, short–tempered, and controlling… He shouldn’t be like this.
“Please let go, calm down,” I said softly, trying to soothe him.
The more I urged him, the tighter he clung. He bargained with me.“Say you still is my partner, say

you won’t leave me.”
My head was spinning.
