Su Jing’s gaze sharpened the moment she recognized the elderly lady before her—the matriarch of the Xu family, Xu Ye’s mother. It was this very woman who had repeatedly refused to allow Su Mo, her sister, to meet the family under the pretense of strict family rules and lofty standards for a daughter-in-law.
The truth, of course, was far simpler and far crueler: Xu Ye himself believed his mother would never accept Su Mo, a woman from the countryside.
Su Jing knew those so-called reasons were nothing but excuses—a convenient way for Xu Ye to dodge responsibility, as he never truly intended to marry her sister. But the fact remained: this formidable matron held real power, enough to make her own son wary, and her interference was why Su Mo had been shut out from the Xu family entirely.
Anger surged in Su Jing’s chest, a burning loathing for this family that had caused so much pain.
Yet today, Su Jing was here for justice, not chaos. Her sister’s grievances were no doubt the Xu family’s to answer, and Su Jing was determined to keep things measured, just as her sister-in-law had advised.
Drawing a deep breath to steady herself, she faced Yu Fang without hesitation and stated plainly, "I am Su Mo’s younger sister, Su Jing. I’m here today to demand justice for her. What your Xu family did to my sister is something we will never forget. This matter must be settled once and for all."
Her eyes were icy blades, fixed unflinchingly on Yu Fang. The older woman’s breath caught in her throat as she recognized Su Jing’s identity; she nearly stumbled backward until Xu Fan hurried to steady her.
"I apologize," Xu Fan said quickly, addressing Su Jing with a forced calm. "We acknowledge the mistakes made, but your sister is gone now. Today, we plan to visit the Su family to transfer all the inheritance left by my brother Xu Ye to his three children. Miss Su Jing, please give us a chance to discuss this matter properly."
Yu Fang regained her footing, gently pushing her son’s hand away. She straightened herself with effort and spoke quietly to Su Jing, "We are at fault for what happened to Su Mo. There’s no use in words now, but Xu Ye left behind a legacy meant for the three children. Additionally, half of the Xu family’s assets will be handed over to them. Even if they refuse to acknowledge us, they still have the right to that money."
At this point, Yu Fang had accepted reality. She no longer had the right to demand forgiveness from those children. No amount of money could compensate for the suffering they endured. All she could do was try to make amends as best she could.

One of the best novels. A different touch, a change in usual billionaire's stories filled with cruelty and betrayals. Thank you author....
