Mated To The Cruel Prince novel Chapter 797

Chapter 797: Queen Of Chaos

Andre kept a safe distance from Azula as soon as she stood up. It was absurd that he, the Autumn Prince, was wary of a mere half-breed, but he knew better than to underestimate her. There was more to Azula than met the eye, and after nearly losing his life, he wasn’t about to let his guard down.

"You tried to kill me," Andre said, his voice taut with accusation, his brows drawn together in a deep frown.

"Try, being the key word. You didn’t die, did you, Prince Andre?" Azula replied nonchalantly, a raised brow daring him to contradict her.

"Who are you really?" Andre’s eyes narrowed with suspicion. "You’re the one who killed Elena, aren’t you?"

Azula’s lips curled into a wicked smile. "You really are perceptive, aren’t you?"

Andre’s frown deepened, his unease growing. "What are you doing in Islinda’s body? Islinda is more than a half-breed, isn’t she? What’s your relationship with her?"

"Tsk, tsk, too many questions," Azula said with mock annoyance, stepping toward Andre.

Andre didn’t retreat this time. If Azula had wanted to kill him, she would have done it long ago. They stood face to face, the sinister smile still playing on Azula’s lips. Then she leaned in, her voice a low whisper. "Why don’t you ask Islinda yourself?"

In one swift motion, she pulled the necklace off her neck. Andre watched in astonishment as Azula’s demeanor changed entirely, her expression softening as the light in her eyes dimmed. The next second, Islinda was standing before him, her presence unmistakable. But what truly shocked him wasn’t the sudden shift in personalities—it was the dark markings that spread across her face, down her arms.

Islinda... was a dark Fae?

His mind reeled at the revelation. Dark Faeries were supposed to be extinct. Yet here was Islinda, carrying the telltale markings of their kind. No wonder Aldric had been so protective of her. He had known all along and kept it hidden. The implications of this were staggering. Dark Faeries were powerful, and with Islinda’s lineage, the potential consequences were terrifying.

Before Andre could fully process what he was seeing, Islinda looked at him with desperation in her eyes. "Don’t trust her, Andre, she will—"

But Islinda’s plea was abruptly cut off as she was yanked back into the void, and Azula reemerged, her twisted smirk returning.

"Now, has your question been answered?" Azula asked, her tone dripping with smug satisfaction.

Andre stumbled back, his shock palpable. Everything was starting to make sense—Aldric’s fierce protectiveness, the secrecy surrounding Islinda. If Islinda was indeed a dark Fae, then the stakes were much higher than he had imagined. Dark Faeries were incredibly powerful, and if Islinda and Aldric were to unite, they could potentially birth a new generation of dark Fae, continuing their dangerous legacy.

Andre’s heart sank at her words. He had feared as much, but hearing it confirmed sent a chill through his veins. Azula was not just a threat—she was a harbinger of destruction. The Fae realm was already on the brink of chaos with the event today, anymore, and things could spiral out of control in unimaginable ways.

"Your plan won’t work," Andre said, trying to project confidence.

Azula tilted her head, intrigued. "And why is that, Prince Andre?"

"The moment you step out of that door, everyone will know that you’re not human. Your wound has completely healed. Humans don’t heal quickly and a good number of people saw you being stabbed," Andre explained, his voice steady despite the tension coiling in his chest. "So unless you plan on silencing me as well, I’ll tell everyone about you."

For a moment, Azula just stared at him. Then, to Andre’s surprise, she burst into laughter. The sound was rich and mocking, echoing off the walls of the room. Andre frowned, confusion flickering across his features.

"What’s so funny?" he demanded, his unease growing.

Azula’s laughter died down to a chuckle, and she looked him dead in the eyes, her expression suddenly serious. "You wouldn’t say a word to anybody."
