Music Recommendation: Leave me in the dark — Alexander Stewart

Blood. Gore. Death.
No matter how much Maxi scrubbed, the scent of blood lingered on her skin, haunting her even as she soaked in the scalding hot bath. It seemed no amount of water could cleanse the darkness festering within her soul
Every detail of Anya’s torment replayed in Maxi’s mind with horrifying clarity. She had wanted Anya to suffer, and she had ensured it with every cruel action. If Maxi possessed the power to inflict torment in the afterlife, she would have done so without hesitation. In unleashing her fury, Maxi had tapped into a sinister aspect of herself that she had long kept suppressed. Now, there was no denying the truth: everyone had witnessed her true nature—a monster.
Even though it was a figment of her imagination, Maxi saw Anya’s face appear at that moment, looming over her. Her twisted smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth as she sneered. "Look at you, you ugly thing..." she spat, looming closer and tilting Maxi’s face, scrutinizing the black markings with disgust. "Does Issac even see these monstrous marks on your face when you’re together?" she taunted. "I bet it disgusts him. You disgust him. How could he possibly see you as his perfect match with a face like yours? Out of all the beautiful light Faeries in Astaria, he chose you? Doesn’t that speak volumes? I wager he views you as nothing more than an exotic dalliance. Once he comes to his senses, he’ll leave you for a stunning light Fae, not someone with ugly markings like you."
Maxi’s mind swirled with self-doubt. Who could possibly love her now? Issac might remain by her side due to the mate bond, but would he truly accept her for who she was? Unlike Issac, Oma and Kayla had not witnessed her true self without the glamour. They would surely be repulsed by the darkness within her. Kayla, once playful and affectionate, would no longer see her as the beloved daughter-in-law.
Although she had emerged victorious over Anya, Maxi couldn’t shake the feeling that she had ultimately lost. Lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice Issac’s presence until he appeared in the washroom, calling her name.
"Maxi...!" His voice broke through her reverie, and this time he shook her shoulder, prompting her to snap out of her thoughts with a small gasp.
"Oh. Sorry. Didn’t hear you," Maxi responded listlessly, rising from the tub and standing to her full height. She wrapped a towel around her naked body and moved to step past Issac, but he reached out and grabbed her arm.
Issac’s scowl softened as he spoke, "I understand that you’re in shock and probably exhausted, but please, don’t push me away. I care about you and couldn’t bear to see you in pain."
"Why?" Maxi retorted sharply.
"What?" Issac was taken aback by her question, confusion furrowing his brow.
"Why would you care about me?" Maxi pressed, her tone tinged with anger.
Issac stared at her in disbelief, a mixture of frustration and concern evident in his expression. He let out an exasperated sigh. "Maxi, you are my mate—"
"Rigit, because you are my mate," Islinda said, a dullness in her eyes. "It’s not like you truly like me or something." She chuckled mirthlessly, "Well, here’s me letting you go."
Several emotions flashed across Issac’s face, but shock and disbelief were the most apparent.
Maxi straightened up, her expression determined. "You’ve witnessed what I’m capable of. You don’t have to stay with me out of obligation. You deserve to find a light Fae whom you can love and have beautiful Fae children with. I won’t hold you back, even as mates."
Issac froze, his heart heavy with Maxi’s words. Before he could respond, Maxi continued, "I’m sorry for bringing this up abruptly, but it needed to be said. Please forgive me, Issac. But if it offers any assurance, know that you would be the last Fae I would ever give my heart to. Have a good life."
With a heavy heart, Maxi added, "And perhaps it’s best if we don’t share the same room from now on. Goodbye, Issac." With that, she turned and left him standing there, the weight of her words hanging heavily in the air.
She had barely stepped into the room when a hand yanked at her hair, eliciting a sharp gasp of pain from her lips. Before she could react, Issac spun her around, and she found herself staring into his intense gaze. Without a word, he crashed his lips against hers, igniting a fire within her that she had tried so hard to suppress.
Maxi squirmed and moaned under his touch, her body betraying her conflicting emotions. "Issac, please," she pleaded, her voice thick with desire and uncertainty.
"Perhaps," Issac murmured, his tone dark and seductive, "I should just show you how much you mean to me."
And just like that, the primal instinct inside Issac surged forth. He was rough and dominant, but Maxi found herself surrendering to his intensity, reveling in every moment as Issac claimed her in every way imaginable. They made love passionately, their bodies entwined in a fervent dance that seemed to last for hours, fueled by their Fae stamina.
As they moved their passionate encounter to the bed, Issac’s words caused Maxi’s heart to skip a beat. "I want to mark you, Maxi. I want to make you mine for eternity."
A wave of warmth washed over Maxi as she felt a deep connection to Issac, and she could only nod in response, her emotions overwhelming her.
With her approval, Issac intensified his movements, thrusting into her with unrestrained force. And in a moment of shared ecstasy, as Maxi tightened around him, Issac lowered his head and sank his teeth into her skin, claiming her blood as his own. Simultaneously, Maxi’s fangs pierced his skin, completing the intimate exchange of their bond..
Isaac felt a strange force constricting in the middle of his chest, like invisible binds tightening until they snapped, unleashing a primal roar from deep within him. At the same time, Maxi screamed in pleasure as he released torrents of his seed inside her.
Collapsing onto her, they both relished in the aftershocks that pulsed through their bodies. As Isaac lifted his face to meet hers, he found Maxi smiling, a radiant expression that mirrored his own.
Returning her smile, Isaac knew in that moment that they were truly together, joined as one. No force in the world could ever come between them, not even faeries like Anya. They were bound by a love stronger than any magic or darkness that threatened to tear them apart.
