Mated To My Boyfriend's Dad novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24: _ He is my mate

Standing there, eyes wide with surprise, was the young werewolf girl I had rescued from the rogue attack, along with the two elven mages who had stabilized her.

Oh, God. Not her. What the hell was she doing here? frёewebηovel.cѳm

Not now.

"Gamma Rhett?" she asked, her voice shaky with disbelief. "Aren’t you — Kylo’s dad?"

I couldn’t blame her. I’d have reacted even worse to such a sight. My palms began to sweat. My secret was already leaked before it even started.

Rhett, however, didn’t even grace her with a response. His eyes darted around for a fleeting second before he spun on his heel and disappeared out of the corridor. I couldn’t imagine what could be going on in his head right now.

I knew my own mind was in chaos right now though.

The girl’s frown deepened. "Isleen? What just happened?"

I watched Rhett go instead, leaving me frozen in the aftermath of his touch and the girl’s shocked glare.

The weight of three pairs of eyes settled on me, heavy and curious. I forced a smile as my face burned with a mixture of shame and embarrassment. "It — it was an accident," I stammered.

How could I possibly explain this?

They must think of me as a hoe who was doing both Dad and Son. I couldn’t even imagine what thoughts might be running through her head about me.

"An accident? Kissing Kylo’s dad is an accident? What sort of accident is that, hun?" The girl queried and I shut my eyes in shame.

There was no way I could explain it to these three innocent bystanders. I couldn’t stand them seeing me as a wayward and lawless girl who was having an affair with her boyfriend’s dad.

What happened between Gamma Rhett and me just now had a reason.

Throwing my hands in the air, "He’s my mate," I blurted out.

I watched the girl’s jaw drop while the two elves remained indifferent. They probably didn’t understand what was going on. They didn’t know that I had just kissed my boyfriend’s father because he is my mate.

What’s wrong with kissing your mate?" one of them chirped, tilting his head in confusion.

Before I could answer, the girl stepped forward, her expression solemn. "He’s Kylo’s dad. Kylo is Isleen’s boyfriend," she explained to the elves, her voice in a whisper but firm too.

The realization of my fate had also weighed on her. I could tell that she was trying so hard to grasp the authenticity of what I had just told her.

Understanding dawned on the elves, replacing their oblivion with a gasp. "Oh, no," one of them whispered, his eyes widening in sympathy. "That’s so unfortunate."

It was more than unfortunate. They had no idea.

"I know," I croaked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Please, please keep this a secret. I—I don’t know how to tell Kylo."

She threw her arms around me in a crushing hug, burying her face in my shoulder. It was so sudden that I was caught off guard and ended up erupting in laughter, the tension from the earlier revelation evaporating.

The elves, who had been observing the scene with their large, curious eyes, clapped their hands in unison. "It seems our work here is done," the male elf announced. "We shall take our leave now."

"Wait!" I exclaimed, suddenly remembering my manners. "I haven’t even introduced myself, or thanked you properly for helping her."

He stepped forward, his pale hand extending towards me. "I am Eloraen, and this is my twin sister, Caelya," he introduced, a gentle smile gracing his face.

Oh, they were twins?

No wonder they looked so much alike. Allod the elves, however had a way of looking alike.

I shook their hands, feeling a strange warmth radiating from them. "It’s a pleasure to meet you both," I said sincerely.

Eloraen’s smile deepened. "The pleasure is ours, Isleen. And worry not, your secret is safe with us," he vowed. "We elves have a history of keeping our promises."

Oh, that much – I knew. Who I was more concerned about was this girl here. Regardless of the fact that she was grateful to me for saving her life, until when would her loyalty and gratitude last until she returned to spreading gossip?

After all, people have a tendency to go back to old habits.
