Chapter 1588: The Outcome

Blue Ember’s target was the seal on her connection to the River of Time, and she was prepared for this attack. First, she used the best Seal Removing Spell she knew. Then, she fused that spell with another boosting technique. The reason she talked so much with her target was that the boosting technique can become more powerful by accumulating strength.

Blue Ember’s plan was decent. The spells she used were the best, meaning she used the best cards available to her. Unfortunately, she was predictable. The moment she attacked, Wang Wei reacted by using the skill that he had been accumulating power for.

The technique he used was an old but reliable one: Yin-Yang Reversal. Of course, he boosted it to meet the requirement, but it eventually met Wang Wei’s requirements. When Blue Ember’s technique reached the seal, another Yin-Yang Symbol materialized and reversed the effects.

The symbol first changed the essence of her attack from "destroying" seals to "reinforcing" them. However, this was just the first step. The symbol then reversed Blue Ember’s target from Wang Wei’s seal toward her connection to the Source Qi Space.

Blue Ember’s hand moved as she summoned a new weapon. But then she paused. This attack was not nearly enough to affect her connection.

Unfortunately for her, Wang Wei’s plan relied on that pause. The moment she realized she had been cheated and her reaction slowed down, he activated the third step of his plan. During his previous move, he scattered a few spirit particles in the environment, but he only used one to revive himself. The others had their own objective.

They were secretly enacting the [Central Earth Seal] created by the master of Sealing Dao — Empress Wu. This particular seal is connected to the entire territory of the Origin Seal Continent and draws the power of the earth to condense. With the invisible blessing from the [power of nothingness], Blue Ember’s distraction, and Wang Wei buying enough time, the spirit particles fulfilled their mission.

Two semi-spheres composed of earth suddenly appeared around Blue Ember before she could react. They fit perfectly together with her encased inside. A yellow talisman with the character for earth materialized before slowly landing on the sealing sphere, completing the process.

"Phew, that was close," Wang Wei muttered. He could feel the looming threat of death, which could only mean that Blue Ember was closer than he would like to admit to finding his Time Mark. At that point, he would have to chase her through the River of Time to protect himself from true death.

’I wonder what her background is,’ Wang Wei thought. He was curious whether she was born in the Eternal Ascension World and recruited by the Black Assassin Order at a young age, or whether she was from somewhere else but had chosen to establish her identity/citizenship in this world.

’The better question is what to do with her.’

Wang Wei had barely finished his thought when the earth sphere trembled. A powerful yet eerie black aura suddenly emanated from within, causing Wang Wei to shudder. "That aura... Damn it, why didn’t I think of that?" One of the advantages of the Faith/Divine Path is that Gods can effortlessly share powers or abilities with their followers.

Given how much Blue Ember worshiped the Black Assassin Order, or the fact that the latter may have access to her Dao Imprint, it made sense that she may be able to channel some of her power.

Wang Wei knew he needed to do something. The intensity of the power has not reached the level of a Primordial Saint. On the contrary, it was far from that tier of power. However, her strength was rising at an astonishing level, and in a matter of seconds, Blue Ember will probably reach Wu Hong’s level and even surpass it.

Six projections materialized behind Wang Wei. Besides Primordial Chaos, which he still needed a lot of work on, Wang Wei had a deep mastery and connection to the other Grand Constructs. So, he did not hesitate to use their powers to boost another seal: the Causality Seal.

His main priority was to reduce the connection between Blue Ember and the Saint to the lowest level possible. Wang Wei’s actions forced him to push his Soul Rings to the limit, but that was the least of his worries. Even with his quick reaction, Blue Ember was still slowly destroying this seal.

’If this Assassin Saint shows he can bully this world, it might embolden other foreign powers to intervene earlier than intended,’ Wang Wei contemplated. The current approach of these foreign factions is ideal for every native of the Eternal Ascension World.
