Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 491

Cam’s POV

"Cam, Cam..." Olivia hadn't even entered the house and was already calling me as if the world was ending.

"In the kitchen, Olivia!" I replied and continued making my sandwich.

"Cam, put that down, we have a problem," Olivia said when she reached the kitchen.

"No way, I'm not putting it down, I'm hungry!" I finished making the sandwich and took a bite. It was so good! "Hmm, that new mustard you bought is amazing."

"Cam, forget the mustard. Your dear stepmother traveled with your jerk of a half-brother," Olivia seemed distressed about this, and I even laughed.

"So what, Olivia? The further away those two are, the better for me." I took another bite of my sandwich.

"Thing is, honey, they went to Paradise Port. What do you think they're doing there?" Now I understood Olivia's nervousness.

"Damn! I'll warn Manu." I left the sandwich on the plate and grabbed my phone right as it rang. "Flavian? What a coincidence, I was about to call Manu." While I answered, OOliviaia stole my sandwich and started eating it, she always did that.

"Cam, I'm sorry, but I really need to talk to you, and it has to be in person," Flavian had said he would call me to learn more about my mother's story, but he was nervous, and I got worried.

"Is Manu okay? My wife just found out that Rita went to Paradise Port with Julian." I was getting concerned about Flavian's tension.

"That woman showed up at our house. It was a disaster, she almost dragged Manu out of there. Lucky I showed up before the worst could happen and stopped them from taking Manu." This was very bad. I knew Rita and Julian, I was sure the conversation hadn't been friendly.

"That's impossible! How did she find the address? How's Manu?" I was bombarding Flavian with questions, I wanted to know everything, but mainly I wanted to know how Manu was doing.

"I really want to know how she found the address," Flavian sighed. "I'll send you a photo of Manu." When he said that, I felt a chill. The photo arrived, and I was shocked by the image of my little sister, hurt and with eyes red from crying.

"I'm going to Paradise Port right now, Flavian!" Olivia was finishing my sandwich and looked at me worried. I hung up after saying goodbye to Flavian and turned to my wife. "Olivia, pack a bag, we're going to see Manu."

"What happened?" I showed the photo to my wife and her eyes welled up. "Manu doesn't deserve this. I'll pack the bag. Let your father know."

We left home half an hour later. My father was at the company, and I thought it would be better to talk to him in person; maybe he would want to come with us.

"Kids, I was thinking about paying a visit." My father was a good man, but he made a huge mistake when he got involved with Rita. It took me a long time to forgive him, but I did and understood that he married her only to take care of Manu.

"Dad, your wife has completely lost it. I don't know how she found Manu's address and went there. Look what she and Julian did to Manu." I showed my father the photo. Obviously, he got upset. "Lucky that Flavian arrived and prevented Rita from dragging Manu away."

"That woman has gone crazy!" My father was furious.

It was much more than hair color. It was much more than physical resemblance. Manu was generous, sweet, kind, and had a noble heart, just like my mother. Even though she was raised by Rita, who was a petty and cruel person, Manu had always been sweet and gentle; she never succumbed to the evil she faced. Julian was less than a year younger than Manu, and he also contributed to making my sister's life hell. He would always beat her, leaving marks all over her body. I tried to defend her and even taught her some moves for self-defense, but that animal was a coward and much bigger than her, always catching her off guard.

When she left, I was relieved; it was best for her, and being away allowed her to flourish even more. However, Rita was determined to cause pain and suffering to her own daughter. She wouldn't leave Manu alone, and things only got worse with time.

Knowing they had hurt Manu again, that they had harmed her once more, awakened a rage in me that I had never felt before. I drove as fast as I could. When I arrived, it was already night, but before looking for a hotel, I went to Manu's house; I needed to see her first.

Flavian opened the door, and I saw my sister sitting on the couch talking with a man. She had a smile on her face from something he had said, and when she saw me, her eyes lit up.

"Little sister!" I ran to hug her. "Didn't I teach you how to properly kick that creep Julian in the balls?"

"He caught me off guard." She smiled, and I examined her face. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you." I pulled her in for another hug, feeling my heart tighten. The mark on her face was turning purple, and I knew it was Rita's work. She always hit Manu's face; it was a precise blow as strong as a punch. Rita wore a huge ring, and whenever she went to hit Manu, she would turn the ring so that it would leave its mark on my sister's face. Many times I saw that mark on Manu's face, and every time, I wanted to kill Rita. "Our father didn't come because he's moving out while that woman is away," I explained before she could feel neglected.

"That's very good. It's about time," she smiled.

I looked at Flavian, who was as irritated as I was, and knew my sister had found a decent guy who would protect her, but we had a lot to talk about; it would be a long night.
