Thalia had always possessed sharp instincts, both as a mother and a wife.
That night, when she and Adam were about to hit the sack, his phone, lying on the nightstand, suddenly lit up. She immediately sensed something amiss.
Needless to say, Adam was a meticulous and responsible man. Even when he was busy, he would ensure to check his messages or calls, albeit just a glance.
At that moment, he grabbed his phone, read the content briefly, and put it away. Just as he prepared to snuggle with Thalia, she suddenly shot up.
"Look at me."
He appeared confused, but something seemed to occur to him. He adjusted the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose and sat up a little straighter, turning to look at her.
She reached out, calmly removed his glasses, and narrowed her eyes at his face in silence for two seconds.
Just as Adam was starting to feel puzzled, Thalia suddenly crossed her arms and squinted at him with a look of deep suspicion. Then, she said something oddly familiar.
"You'd better have an explanation because I see you're experiencing an ill-fated romantic entanglement—or what they call bad love luck."
He was speechless.
The reason he found those words familiar was because during the one time he visited Shannon on Sixth Sense's set, he was told by Elliot and Juniper that he had bad love luck and attracted malicious people.
Like clockwork, he was asked out by Linda soon after. The memory still made his skin crawl.
After Thalia returned, he had made sure everyone who knew about the Linda incident kept their mouths shut. He didn't want her to find out that he had played a role in Linda and Alex's divorce.
Adam had always thought he had hidden everything well, but unbeknownst to him, Thalia had known about it all along.
Firstly, she trusted him. Secondly, Linda had been living abroad for the past couple of years, so Thalia had simply chosen to feign ignorance.
