The moment he sensed the warmth on his lips, his gaze darkened slightly. He instinctively reached out and circled his arms around Shannon's waist.

It looked like he was simply steadying her so she wouldn't fall, but a closer look revealed his forearm tensing slightly as he pulled her closer inch by inch.
