Lionel was caught red–handed and didn’t know what to do. He tried to leave, but Stella wouldn’t give him a chance. No matter which way he turned, she blocked his path.
“Lionel, are you too scared to talk to me?” Stella asked.
Lionel looked at Stella. “I have nothing to say.”
“How can you say there’s nothing to talk about? The first thing you did was rip off my shop’s concept. Lionel, when did you become so shameless?” Stella demanded.
“Stella, I never claimed this place was mine,” Lionel replied.
“Why are you even here?” Stella shot back.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Lionel said.
Lionel tried to walk around her, but Stella blocked him every time. “You’re not leaving until you tell me everything,” Stella insisted.
“Stella, I have something important to do. Get out of my way,” Lionel said.
“I’m not letting you through,” Stella shot back. She stood her ground, refusing to budge no matter what, making sure Lionel had no way past her.
Lionel looked at her. “What exactly do you want? Stella, I don’t even know what you mean by copying, and I don’t get what you’re saying. If you don’t get out of my way, I won’t go easy on you.”
“And what exactly can you do to me?” Stella shot back. She glared at him. “Haven’t you already done enough to me? Lionel, you-”
Before she could finish, Lionel shoved her aside with a force that completely caught her off guard. Just as Stella hit the ground, a car came barreling toward her from behind.
Nola watched in shock, thinking Stella was about to get run over, and she immediately lunged forward to pull her away.
Lionel just stood there, dumbfounded. It was only when he saw Nola yank Stella to safety that he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He walked off in a hurry, acting like Stella wasn’t even there. By the time Stella steadied herself, Lionel had already gotten into his car and left.
Nola hugged Stella tightly, her voice trembling with relief. “Mr. Hayes, you scared me to death just now. I didn’t even know if I could pull you away in time. Thank goodness you’re okay.”
Stella looked at her gratefully. “You saved my life. I promise I’ll never let you down.”
“Come on, don’t say that. I don’t care about any of that. I just know, if something happened to you right in front of me, I don’t think I could ever forgive myself,” Nola said.
Stella could see that Nola was truly sincere; so different from all those people who just pretended to care. In a world like this, meeting someone like Nola made Stella feel incredibly lucky.
“By the way, Mr. Quinn already left,” Nola suddenly remembered and said.
“It’s fine, let him go. But can you help me check how many of these stores they’ve set up?” Stella asked.

“Okay Mary replied.

Stella had work to do, so she headed back to the office. Even after everything she’d been through, that brush with death, being shoved by Lionel and nearly hit by a car, still haunted her.
It had never crossed her mind that Lionel would go so far as to want her dead. If that was how he wanted to play it, she wasn’t going to show him any mercy either.
Before the end of the workday, Nola had already tracked down all the locations of the new supermarkets the Quinn Group had opened and brought the list right to Stella.
Stella glanced at it and said, “Thanks for your hard work. What do you want for dinner? My treat.”
Nola looked a little embarrassed. “It’s okay, I’ve got plans later…”
Stella smiled at her. “Relax, when I say I’m treating you, I mean just give me your address and I’ll have food delivered. I’m heading home myself.”
Nola got even more flustered, but with Stella urging her, she gave in and handed over her address.
“Alright, if you don’t tell me what you want, I’ll just send you whatever I like to eat,” Stella teased.
“Okay,” Nola replied. She was too shy to ask for anything else.
As Stella walked out, she was genuinely surprised to see Jordan had come to pick her up. She walked over. “What are you doing here?”
“How about we go out for dinner tonight?” Jordan suggested.
Stella had been feeling a lot better lately, and eating out wasn’t such a big deal anymore. But more than anything, Jordan just wanted to help her shake off the gloom.
After all, Eleanor had been staying with her at home for a while, and if she went back now, she’d definitely start thinking about her again, which would only drag her mood down.
“What about Mary?” Stella asked.
“I gave Mary the day off today and let her go home,” Jordan replied.
Stella thought for a moment and realized she really didn’t have any reason to say no. Jordan led her to the car.
It seemed like Jordan had everything planned out. He took her to a two–star Michelin restaurant. Stella had never set foot in a place like this before. She’d only ever overheard Andrew and Fiona secretly bringing Anna and Max here.
Every time she heard about it, she wished she hadn’t heard a thing. It made her feel like she was just an outsider in this family. But she never expected that as soon as she walked in, she’d run into Anna and Monroe.
Stella acted like she didn’t even see Anna, but the moment Anna spotted her, she quickly stood up and called out, “Stella.”
Monroe frowned. “Anna, don’t be so nice. She didn’t even bother to say hi to you.”
Anna put on her sweetest, most innocent face. “Well, I’m still her sister. When I see her, it’s only natural for me to say hello first.”
Monroe couldn’t stand seeing Anna being treated like this, so he shot Stetta a look and said, “Anna’s already being more than considerate. What else do you want from her?”
Jordan was about to speak up, but Stella stopped him with a hand and stepped right up to Monroe.
