Chapter 91 The Luna’s Stance

Any amount of money?

I smiled faintly. “Then I want the entire Midnight Corp. How’s that sound to you?”

Yulia’s expression darkened instantly.

“Ms. Raelynn, I came here with sincere intentions to negotiate,” she said, brushing her hair behind her shoulder. “You can name a reasonable price. After all, I’m just a mother doing what’s best for her child. Surely you can understand that?”

I brushed my own hair back and replied slowly, “But do you know that Aiden already has a first love? Even if I weren’t in the picture, he still wouldn’t be with Taylor. Don’t you think it’s obvious they were never going to happen?”

Yulia waved her hand with an airy smile. “That was just puppy love. Who even remembers their childhood crushes? Besides, Taylor was studying abroad all those years. She never even had the chance to be around Aiden. It’s normal for him to like someone else.”

“So, you’re dead set on getting rid of me?” I looked her straight in the eye.

“I wouldn’t call it getting rid of you. I’d say I’m helping you make a wise decision. You’re still young, sweetheart. There are so many good men out there. Why cling to Aiden?”

“It’s not her clinging to me. I’m the one who likes her.”

Before she could finish, a sharp male voice came from the doorway.

I turned my head and saw Aiden standing there, his face cold as stone.

“Aiden, you’re here…” Yulia looked startled, clearly realizing he’d overheard everything.

My cheeks burned. I still hadn’t figured out how to respond to his confession from last night–and now he was doing it again, right in front of Taylor’s mother.

This man seriously left me speechless sometimes.

Aiden walked in and stood right in front of me, shielding me from Yulia’s line of sight. “From now on, don’t come looking for Raelynn again,” he said coldly, “My feelings are mine. Whether Raelynn’s in the picture or not, I would never like Taylor. So there’s no need to try and convince me.”

Yulia’s face twisted, and she shot me a nasty glare.

“Your mother will never approve of this relationship,” she snapped. “As the next heir to Eclipse Pack, you’re only allowed to marry Taylor.”

Aiden let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Who I marry is my business. Even my mother can’t control that.”

“Fine. In that case, we’ll see what happens next.”

Yulia stood abruptly and stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

“You know… offending the luna of Midnight Pack probably isn’t the smartest move.” I looked over at Aiden. “I have a feeling she’s going to go straight to Madam Salvatore.”

Aiden didn’t seem fazed. He pulled the blanket over me a little more snugly. “Don’t worry. I’ve got you.”

Ever since his confession last night, he really had been acting like a whole different person. He was so gentle with me now that I almost didn’t know how to react.

“…Alright.” I could only whisper my reply.

Once Yulia left, it was just the two of us in the room.

And the air suddenly felt thick with tension.

Aiden sat beside my bed, his eyes locked on mine.

I looked back and asked, “Why are you staring at me like that?”

He took my hand in his and opened his mouth to speak–but before he could get a word out, the door opened again.

This time, it was Taylor.

I swear, that mother–daughter duo must’ve made it their life mission to ruin every good moment I had.

“How are you feeling, Raelynn? Still uncomfortable?” Taylor asked, acting like she didn’t even notice Aiden and I were holding hands. She came right over, her tone carefully sweet.

“No need for your concern, Ms. Taylor,” I replied, tightening my grip on Aiden’s hand and smiling at her.

“Aiden… Raelynn still doesn’t like me very much…” Taylor said softly, putting on her usual pitiful expression. But this time, Aiden didn’t even spare her a glance.

“Raelynn needs rest,” he said. “Maybe you should leave for now.”

Watching Aiden openly take my side, Taylor’s face twitched slightly–but she quickly put on a smile. “Aiden, I just came to check in on Raelynn. I won’t bother her…”

“Ms. Taylor, you’re already bothering me,” I said with a little laugh, not bothering to sugarcoat it.

Taylor froze. Then her lips trembled–and she burst into tears.

“If you’re going to cry, do it outside. Raelynn needs rest,” Aiden said, frowning, showing her the door without hesitation.

Taylor pouted, shot a wounded look at Aiden, and finally left, wiping at her eyes.

I sighed. “You scared off our little princess.”

Aiden didn’t respond, still wearing a frosty expression.
