As for whether there were other reasons beyond these three, Freya couldn’t be sure, but she had a feeling things weren’t that simple.
So, she shook her head. “I’m not going with you. Go back to wherever you came from.”
“Why not? Louis is already a failure. Why are you still sticking around? He’ll only make you suffer. What are you holding
onto?”
Freya sighed. Thinking of the original Freya, her expression turned serious. “Marriage means sharing blessings and hardships. I’m his wife, so I should stand by his side. No matter what happens to him, I can’t abandon him. It’s not just about hardship or money. As long as we’re not divorced, I won’t leave him. Besides, this is when he needs me the most.”
Clement was about to speak, but Freya cut him off. “And another thing, you didn’t come looking for me because you like me. You just think stealing Louis’s woman would give you a sense of satisfaction. If you truly had feelings for me, then knowing all along that Louis only gave me money, why didn’t you try to take me from him back when he was still successful? I fell for your lies before because I liked you, but once I saw you for the sc*mbag you are, I woke up. I’m not stupid.”
“What nonsense are you spouting? What kind of person do you take me for? I really do like you! Did Louis say something to you and make you misunderstand me?” Clement’s gaze darkened.
Freya sighed. “You’re giving yourself too much credit. Someone like Louis wouldn’t even mention you in front of me, he doesn’t care enough to notice you. The only one fixated on him is you, constantly trying to prove your existence in his world. There’s a saying, ‘A person sees the world as a reflection of themselves. Go wherever you need to go, I won’t waste harsher words on you. You can only deceive those who like you. If a woman neither loves you nor wants your money, then tell me, what do you think you are to her?”
