Louis heard the commotion outside. Just as he finished washing his hands, he stepped out. “What’s going on?”

“My novel passed the initial review! If it makes it through the second and final rounds, I’ll finally start earning money from it!” Freya was in an incredibly good mood and blurted it out without thinking. She looked at Louis expectantly, her eyes sparkling as if she was waiting for praise. His expression softened slightly.
“Is that so? Congratulations.”
“Same to you, same to you.” Freya grinned brightly, tilting her head in a way that made her look surprisingly adorable. But after saying that, she completely ignored Louis, fully immersing herself back into her writing. Just a glance at her was enough to see how motivated she was.
Louis returned to the bathroom, his brows furrowed. No matter how well someone acts, they can’t fake such a pure gaze. Can a person really change so drastically? So much that they seem like an entirely different person? The greed, confusion, and self–indulgence that used to fill Freya’s eyes were gone. It was as if all the negativity had vanished overnight.
I should investigate. Louis made up his mind. He no longer wanted to waste time and energy on something that should have been resolved long ago. If she had truly changed and wanted to improve, then keeping her around wasn’t a problem. After all, she was still his wife in name, and she had never done anything that crossed his bottom line.
So this is what they mean by ‘manna from heaven‘ while just sitting at home! The thought of earning a steady stream of money filled her with pure joy.
If something goes wrong with Louis in the future, at least we’ll have a place to stay.
She wasn’t planning to take advantage of him. She’d use her own money to cover the mortgage, making it a shared asset. If her writing income increased, she could save up and buy another property. And if Louis ever wanted the house, he could consider it a debt he owed her, one he could repay slowly. She had no intention of pressuring him–it would simply be a way to acknowledge that he didn’t abandon her now.
Freya had already mapped out her future plans clearly. Feeling accomplished, she checked her online sales. Not bad, not bad- more items sold. In the afternoon, she called for a courier to pick up the parcels.
The delivery guy scratched his head awkwardly. “Ms. Stone, did you open an online shop? These bags look really nice. If possible, could you sell one to me at a discount? I want to gift it to my girlfriend.”
Freya was taken aback and quickly waved her hands. “Oh, no, I don’t run a shop. I’m just helping a friend clear out some things. These bags aren’t cheap–they’re all at least a few thousand dollars. I can’t decide on the price, but if you’re really interested, I can ask for you.”
The courier’s eyes widened in shock. “A few thousand dollars? Wow… these must be luxury bags!”
