Chapter 180
Of course, there were also people who wondered, “The Mcintosh Piano Competition never had this kind of thing happen for so many years. Maybe you just weren’t good enough and were jealous that others made it?”
“Supported the original poster. There was no evidence at all, just used a short story here to say someone pulled strings. Wasn’t that funny? If the poster really wanted us to support you, at least show some proof. Saying all this online without any evidence was just slander and defamation.”
Some people also said, “Isn’t it normal to play the wrong notes? Did everyone who made it to the finals never play a wrong note? Why make such a big deal out of it?”
A few still reasonable comments were drowned out by other comments that were still guessing which player it was.
It was probably for the traffic, so the poster didn’t put her post up right away and let people guess. That’s also why this post got an unusually high number of comments.
Alarieka glanced at those people’s guesses. Most of them mentioned her name and added a few you know what I mean emojis.
“Of course Alarieka got in. She never even joined any competitions before, and as soon as she entered something like the Mcintosh Competition, she made it to the semifinals. I really didn’t believe she got in on her own. Someone must have helped her behind the scenes.”
“Alarieka had the Argent family backing her. If you talked about her like that, she wouldn’t have let you go.”

“Who didn’t know the Argent family already kicked her out? If you ask me, the Argent family shouldn’t have adopted her in the first place.”
“And I heard that before, Alaricka missed the sign–up time for the competition, and it was Paloma who gave her own spot to her, so she got the chance to compete. Looking at it this way, there was definitely something going on between her and Paloma. I didn’t believe there was nothing.”
“Didn’t Paloma always say she was fair? Guess she wasn’t even pretending anymore.”
After the post got really popular because of all the discussion, the original poster finally showed up and pinned their own comment:
“Who else could it be but Alarieka?”
The poster said, “I had a few questions for the organizers. Why could Alarieka join the competition after missing the registration deadline? Why did Paloma keep standing up for Alarieka again and again? Why could Alarieka, someone who never joined any other piano competitions, get into the semifinals? Is the Mcintosh Piano Competition really fair and just?”
“Please answer my question right now, organizer.”
“Did the Mcintosh Piano Competition really do what you said about being fair, just, and open?”
If nothing went wrong, the guy who posted this was the same man making a scene at the game back then, named Sammy Durant.
The blunt comments made the post popular again.
Alarieka just sent the link to the post to Paloma.
This thing wasn’t her fault.

She was confident in her skills, so she purposely played a wrong note Even though the way they announced the spots for the next round was a bit unexpected, the result would still be just what she wanted.
This was the result she won fair and square, and there was none of that inside story Sammy talked about.
But Sammy wouldn’t let it go and was sure she was in cahoots with Paloma, so that wasn’t her business.
That should have been the organizer’s headache.
So she just sent the post link to Paloma and had the organizer handle
Paloma replied really fast, almost just a few seconds later.
Paloma said, “Got it, the organizer will handle this, just focus on your competition.”
Alarieka clearly felt that ever since that post showed up, there was more and more talk in the restaurant. More and more contestants looked over at her, with looks that were sarcastic, mocking, or just waiting to see a show–there were all kinds.
All in all, it wasn’t very friendly.
