Chapter91
Terrence was still not at ease.
He arrived at the airport, and Krista was waiting for him in the
VIP lounge. She was also about to board the plane. They came
out of the lounge together.
Bethany just got off the plane.
She walked out with the crowd and caught sight of Terrence
and Krista.
Due to the crowded airport, Terrence pushed the suitcase with
one hand and kept his other hand around Krista, protecting her
as if afraid she would be bumped into by someone.
Bethany found it really hard to believe the way her nephew
treated his aunt.
Whoever looked at them, they seemed like a couple with
intimate gestures.
Bethany’s pace moved forward uncontrollably with the crowd,
while Terrence and Krista entered through another boarding
gate.
Chapter 1
Bethany averted her gaze and walked straight towards the exit.
She increasingly felt her life was absurd.
She dared not have any expectations for this marriage anymore.
Terrence and Krista flew off the plane and headed straight to
the hospital.
Terrence walked to the door of the ward when his phone rang.
It was a call from Michael.
He lifted his eyelids and said to Krista, “You go in first, I’ll take a
phone call.”
“Um.”
Krista pushed open the door of the ward.
Emery saw her and burst into tears, he opened his arms towards.
Krista.
Krista released the suitcase, hurried over, sat at the bedside, and
embraced Emery in her arms, gently patting his back.
“Emery, be good and stop crying.”
Eliza stood aside, her face growing darker and darker,
increasingly worried for Bethany.
J
How could Mrs. McConnell leave Mr. Emery at this time?
Wasn’t this an opportunity for Krista?
Meanwhile, Terrence, who was answering the phone outside the door, had a dark and gloomy expression.
“What did you say, Mrs. McConnell booked a flight to Alenia?”
Yes, found her itinerary. She went to Nimburg, then returned from Nimburg to Rivermond. In Rivermond, she took a flight. By this time, she had probably been in Alenia for nearly two
hours.
Terrence calculated the time, that is, when he and Krista
returned, Bethany had arrived in Alenia.
come out with me.”
After speaking, Terrence walked out first.
Eliza followed closely behind.
Terrence stared at Eliza, his voice calm and gentle, “Was there anything unusual when Bethany returned home this morning?”
“Besides looking a bit pale, there didn’t seem to be anything unusual. She mentioned wanting to have a croissant from Felicity Bakery, but after going out, she never came back. If there was anything abnormal to mention…”
Eliza hesitated to speak.
Terrence’s calm and delicate features, with an angry tone, “Say
it all at once!”
“Mrs. McConnell didn’t seem to be in a good mood.”
Eliza was just a maid, dared to be angry but not to speak.
Terrence seemed a little impatient, “What’s the difference between saying that and not saying anything?”
Eliza was helpless, isn’t the fundamental reason just because of
Krista?
Even the maid noticed, but Mr. McConnell himself didn’t realize
- it.
“Mr. McConnell, why don’t you ask Ms. McConnell? She was
taking care of Mr. Emery at the hospital during the day, and
Mrs. McConnell would only come over in the evening.”
“Okay, you go back first. Emery is here with me.”
After Eliza left, Terrence took out his phone and was about to
call Evangeline when he heard Krista’s voice coming from the hospital room.
“Terrence.”
Terrence put away his phone and walked into the ward.
Krista stood up and said, “Emery didn’t have dinner tonight, I’ll go buy him some food.“”
