Ex-Husband Begone (Bethany and Terrence) novel Chapter 7

Chapter 7

After they left, Eliza went into the master bedroom with her

cleaning stuff. It was usually taken care of by Bethany and was

always clean. She didn’t get why Terrence wanted it cleaned.

She opened the windows to let some fresh air in.

Everything was clean, but she still wiped it down carefully.

There was a nice breeze coming through the window.

The cancer diagnosis report slipped further under the bed…

Last night, Bethany went back to her hometown.

After she cleaned up the house, it was already daylight.

Feeling tired, she turned off her phone, wanting to sleep in peace.

Maybe because of the liver cancer, or maybe because she didn’t

have to worry about every little thing at home, she slept deeply

and didn’t wake up until eight in the evening.

She turned her phone back on.

It immediately started beeping with text and WhatsApp

notifications.

easily.

She didn’t hope for anything anymore, but deep down, her heart

was still full of pain.

Ding! Her phone rang again.

It was a reminder from the smartwatch app. She had set a special

alert for Emery.

She exited WhatsApp and tapped into the smartwatch app. This

was the first time she had been away from Emery for a whole

day, and she was worried about him.

Emery had posted a photo of him, Terrence, and Krista.

“Hey there, how’s life treating you? I’ve got this cool animation

project, and I’d love for you to be a part of it. Even if you’re not

into it, hit me up. I really want to catch up. Can’t wait to hear

back from you!”

Terrence parked his car at the villa’s gate.

Krista got out of the car, holding the sleeping Emery.

“Terrence, can you get someone to take Emery? I gotta go.”

Terrence frowned, looking a bit worried. “You always get

allergies at hotels. Your suitcase is right in my car. Just stay here

tonight.”

Krista hesitated. “I know you care about me, but Beth doesn’t

know I’m your aunt. Women can be sensitive and might get the

wrong idea. Terrence, you’re not single anymore. You need to

think about Beth’s feelings. She’s your wife, after all.”
