Chapter 52
“Since the Meyers family had set their sights on you, they wouldn’t give up easily.”
“I suspected they might not just want to confirm your identity.”
Gabrielle looked at him, confused, “Then what did they want to do?”
Zachary was silent for a moment, then said a guess that shocked Gabrielle.
“Maybe they wanted to ‘take you back.”
“Bring back Balamora, bring back the Meyers family.”
Gabrielle’s pupils suddenly shrank, “Why?”
She had nothing to do with the Meyers family.
Why did Cristofer want to take her back?
“I’m not sure yet.”
Zachary frowned, “The Meyers family never played by the rules.”
“But I had a feeling this might have something to do with something inside the Meyers family.”
“Maybe there was even some kind of connection with that Gabrielle who was already ‘dead‘ that we didn’t know about.”
This guess was way too wild, but Zachary’s gut was always right.
Gabrielle felt a chill.

Chapter52
If the Meyers family really wanted to take her back, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
She finally got away from the Cobbett family and the Goldstein family and started a new life.
I absolutely couldn’t get dragged into another even deeper family mess.
“Don’t be afraid.” Zachary held her tightly in his arms.
“With me here, no one could take you away from me.”
“Even the Meyers family couldn’t do it.”
His tone was firm and full of unquestionable determination
To protect Gabrielle, he didn’t mind going head–to–head with the Meyers family.
Gabrielle leaned against his strong chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
The panic inside slowly calmed down.
Yeah, she wasn’t alone, she had Zachary.
This man was her armor, was her support.
“Zachary, thank you.”
She said it from the bottom of her heart.
“Dummy, saying thanks again.”
Zachary gave her nose a punishing pinch.
“We were husband and wife, protecting you was my responsibility, and it was also my instinct.”

He lowered his head and kissed her forehead.
“I would handle this well.”
“You just needed to stay by my side and feel at ease.”
“But…” he changed the subject.
“For safety reasons, you had to take a bodyguard with you whenever you went out recently.”
“And also, try to go out alone as little as possible.”
Gabrielle knew how serious it was and nodded obediently.
“Okay, I listened to you.”
Zachary smiled with satisfaction.
“Good boy.”
He liked how she depended on him and trusted him.
“In order to reward my good wife, I took you to a nice place this afternoon.”
Zachary gave a mysterious smile.
“Where?” Gabrielle asked curiously.
“Kept it secret for now.”
Zachary scratched her nose and said, “Promise you’ll like it.”
In the afternoon, Zachary really kept his promise.
He took Gabrielle to a top private jewelry club in the suburbs.

This club wasn’t open to the public, it only served top VIP clients by appointment
The jewelry in there was all one–of–a–kind treasures, priceless.
Zachary was obviously a regular here.
The manager came out to greet us in person, and his attitude was super respectful.
“Mr. Monroe, Mrs. Monroe, please come in.”
The manager led them to a lavishly decorated private showroom.
On the velvet display in the center of the hall, there were all kinds of dazzling jewelry.
Diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds…
Each piece had a unique design, great craftsmanship, and shined with a charming glow.
“Pick whichever one you liked.”
Zachary put his arm around Gabrielle’s waist and spoke as casually as if he were at the market.
Gabrielle looked at these dazzling jewels in front of her and was really tempted.
No woman could resist the charm of jewelry.
But she was still a bit hesitant.
These things, you could tell right away they were worth a lot.
She didn’t want Zachary to spend so much on her.

Zachary saw what she was thinking, leaned down and said in her ear.
“I was happy to spend money on you.”
“And my Mrs. Monroe deserved the best.”
His tone was full of that kind of doting you just couldn’t say no to.
Gabrielle’s heart warmed up, and she wasn’t fussy anymore.
She looked closely at the jewelry on the display.
My eyes finally landed on a necklace that was simple in design but really unique.
The main part of the necklace was platinum, and the pendant was a flawless pear–shaped pink diamond.
There was a circle of tiny white diamonds around the pink diamond, like stars surrounding the moon.
The color and shine of this pink diamond actually matched the main stone on her Galaxy necklace.
And the pink diamond on the engagement ring was almost exactly the
same.
It felt like they were from the same series.
“Like this?” Zachary followed her gaze, a look of understanding flashing in his eyes.
