“Since the Meyers family had set their sights on you, they wouldn’t give up easily.”

“I suspected they might not just want to confirm your identity.”

Gabrielle looked at him, confused, “Then what did they want to do?”

Zachary was silent for a moment, then said a guess that shocked Gabrielle.

“Maybe they wanted to ‘take you back.”

“Bring back Balamora, bring back the Meyers family.”

Gabrielle’s pupils suddenly shrank, “Why?”

She had nothing to do with the Meyers family.

Why did Cristofer want to take her back?

“I’m not sure yet.”

Zachary frowned, “The Meyers family never played by the rules.”

“But I had a feeling this might have something to do with something inside the Meyers family.”

“Maybe there was even some kind of connection with that Gabrielle who was already ‘dead‘ that we didn’t know about.”

This guess was way too wild, but Zachary’s gut was always right.

“Don’t be afraid.” Zachary held her tightly in his arms.

And the pink diamond on the engagement ring was almost exactly the

It felt like they were from the same series.

“Like this?” Zachary followed her gaze, a look of understanding flashing in his eyes.
