Evelyn screamed, “Are you insane? Do you know who I am?”

Zachary brushed off invisible dust from his suit, voice cold as ice.

“You’re the daughter of a family who owns a company that’s about to go bankrupt.”

Evelyn’s expression changed dramatically. “What nonsense are you spouting?”

Zachary pulled out his phone and made a call.

“The Wyatt Group. Make sure it’s gone within the hour.”

His tone was calm like he was discussing the weather.

A voice responded respectfully on the other end, “Yes,” “r. Monroe.”

Zachary ended the call and looked at the now–pale Evelyn and her dazed companion.

Evelyn trembled all over. She finally realized what kind of man she had provoked.

Zachary held Gabrielle’s hand as they strolled down Velora Avenue.

“That woman carlier… is it really going to…”

Gabrielle was still a little worried. She didn’t want innocent people to suffer because of her.

Evelyn had been unpleasant, but bankruptcy felt like too steep a price.

“Don’t worry,” Zachary said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

“The Wyatt Group already had a mountain of problems. I simply gave it a little push.

“Keeping people like that around is just a waste of resources.”

He said it so lightly as if he were just taking out the trash.

Gabrielle asked no further questions. She chose to trust him.

Zachary always knew where to draw the line.

Her mood was a little tangled because of the necklace, and that earlier confrontation.
